Beautiful guesthouse, very well designed and extremely peaceful. The room was a great size, had an amazing wooden bath/ wet room and a super comfy bed. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the location within Takayama was perfect. The sauna experience was definitely worth the extra cost and we loved the outdoor cold plunge. We also loved the lounge and fire area and appreciated the breakfast and complimentary drinks.

The only think stopping this being a 10 was how cold the room got. We were there in winter but the portable heater in the room had to be on almost constantly to keep the room warm.

Very very clean! The lounge near takayama station was so convenient since our accom was a bit far from the central area so great for a break. The service was excellent and we loved the breakfast that was set up for us everyday. Staff were helpful in arranging taxis, services & answering any queries. There were also complimentary drinks in the fridge and crackers for us. Private onsen was very clean and relaxing after a long day and the house was very warm in the cold winter.

A bit far from Takayama station - we just took the city bus (which is not very frequent) or taxi which staff organised for us.

Our first time in Takayama was made perfect with Iori Stay Ojinmachi. Loved the way this Ryokan was built - keeping traditional Japanese architecture while incorporating modern amenities. Their private onsen was wonderful and they had large spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The lady who checked us in was super helpful and also offered us complimentary pick up and drop service at the Takayama Station.

Everything was perfect!
