Château Hôtel Grand Barrail

An exquisite destination, the chateau is an absolute gem, superbly taken care of with pristine surroundings among vineyards and a few mins away from Saint Emilion, the jewel village of Bordeaux. The service is of the highest quality, with very attentive staff and the restaurant is excellent. Very memorable gourmet dinner.

A warm outdoor pool would have been nice to have during our cold days.

The hotel staff was excellent.

The car pickup the hotel arranged for us was about 20 minutes late. It did not arrive until the tour guide kindly gave the hotel a call.

Beautiful property located close to Saint Emilion. Very nice swimming pool with sun loungers. Our room was very comfortable with doors leading to a nice terrace area with a table, chairs and loungers. Nice views over the adjacent vineyard. Excellent toiletries and towels. Adequate breakfast served in the main building. Good sized car park.

The hotel restaurant is very busy. The hotel do not prioritise hotel guests. If you want to eat onsite you must prebook a table. That said there are lots of excellent restaurants a short distance away. The Spa hot tub is not hot enough.

A beautiful hotel in a quiet, peaceful setting, it was a perfect place for relaxing.

The hotel and staff were excellent, however, the sauna area was always dominated by one male guest who spoke loudly every day during my stay, and again when I revisited several days later, which made it less relaxing times. The hotel might consider adding a ‘quiet zone’ sign😅
