Treasures of Zanzibar House

Very kind and welcoming staff, clean structure, rooms full equipped with everything you need. A FANTASTIC hotel with a great terrace (the breakfast is excellent - my congrats to the wonderful Bianca) in the heart of Stone Town. I really recommend to choose this hotel for your staying in Stone Town. It exceeded all my expectations.

Nothing! Everything was perfect.

Man wird sehr herzlich empfangen, alle sind super nett. Unkomplizierter Check-In. Das Frühstück oben auf der Dachterrasse war sehr gut - mit schöner Aussicht auf die Dächer der Umgebung. Sehr lecker, speziell auch der spiced coffee! Man ist mitten im Trubel der Altstadt.

Die Betten waren für mich zu hart. Sonst war alles super!!!

Herzlicher Empfang und unkompliziertes Einchecken. Das Frühstück oben auf der Dachterrasse war sehr lecker, besonders der spiced coffee! Die Lage ist mitten im trubeligen Zentrum, alles prima zu Fuß zu erreichen. Man muss wissen, dass morgens um fünf der Muezzin ruft, aber man bekommt Ohrstöpsel.

Etwas harte Matraze. Sonst alles sehr gut.

Sauberes Zimmer, perfekte Lage, ausgezeichnetes Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal. Die Gebetsrufe der nahegelegenen Moschee waren hörbar, aber das Personal stellte uns sofort Ohrstöpsel zur Verfügung. Sehr aufmerksamer Service!

L’emplacement est idéal, au cœur de Stone Town. Le personnel est le gros point fort de cet établissement, je n’ai jamais vu des personnes aussi attentionnées, bienveillantes et disponibles ! Le petit dej, composé de spécialités locales, est très copieux et délicieux.

This is not my first stay at Treasures of Zanzibar House, and once again, I was truly amazed by the experience. Since my previous visit, the entire building has been beautifully renovated, giving it a fresh, modern feel while still preserving its unique Stone Town charm. Everything looked brand new, and in many ways, even better than before. The room I selected was exactly as advertised in the photos—something that is increasingly rare to find. It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, spacious, and very comfortable. Every detail seemed carefully thought out, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. What impressed me most, as always, was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. They were friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making every guest feel welcome. Their kindness and excellent service truly made my stay special. I absolutely love this place and can confidently say that it remains one of my favorite places to stay in Stone Town. Thank you, Treasures of Zanzibar House, for creating such a wonderful, comfortable, and memorable place for travelers. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Having stayed in many hotels across Stone Town, I can honestly say that complete silence is difficult to find anywhere in the area due to the unique character and vibrant atmosphere of the historic city. However, this hotel was one of the quietest and most peaceful places I have experienced in Stone Town. The only noticeable sound was the call to prayer, which is a beautiful and authentic part of the city's culture and traditions. The hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary earplugs for guests who are sensitive to noise, which was a wonderful gesture and greatly appreciated. Thanks to the comfortable room, peaceful environment, and the free earplugs, I slept very well throughout my stay. Overall, I had a relaxing and enjoyable experience and would be happy to stay here again.

The staff is very nice and the property is freshly renovated so is relatively clean.

However, for the price (like really European city level stay rates), the rooms are very basic. There isn’t a desk for example, there is no noise insulation (and it is very noisy, the street, the mosques as well as people passing the stairs, doors opening closing). The curtains hardly cover the balcony and there is so much light in the room. The pictures here are AI edited.

The staff was overly kind. It felt very safe arriving 'home' because there were always staff members at reception and out on the street even at night.

They were a tad overly solicitous. A nice problem I have to admit.
