Location was superb.

The excessive exterior lighting at night. Difficult to make the bedroom dark at night even with all window coverings employed. Expected better soundproofing between units. Could hear the neighbours talking and using the bathroom

Lovely location, plenty to do in the surrounding area, the grounds were lovely and very large, nice little cafe which was open on the weekend once the film crews had vacated.

Unfortunately at the time we were there (and we had not been forewarned to our disappointment) some filming was taking place which meant we could not access the castle and could only access the grounds on the weekend. Sadly when I tried to telephone the appropriate person as I was having issues accessing my emails to get the code to get the key their phone was turned off, not very helpful at all. Luckily my internet came back and I accessed my emails and we got in.

This place is such a secret gem. I hadn’t quite realised how special it was and that it would feel like we had the castle grounds completely to ourselves. The accommodation was so beautifully decorated, welcoming and comfortable. Simply wonderful and totally understated on the property details

Only slight grumble is that marquee scaffolding by was taken down noisily on the Sunday morning right outside our bedroom, but that’s a one off and shouldn’t put anyone off booking.
