Stableyard Studio: Drumlanrig Castle

We had booked the Stableyard Studio Apartment, which is self contained. We did enjoy a light meal in the Castle Cafe. We were so lucky to be there when the annual Fair was held, received complimentary tickets, and spent two days either at the Fair or wandering the grounds. We loved everything about the stay and the beautiful property, and enjoyed a wonderfully guided tour of the Castle as well.

We arrived shortly before 5pm, and had received no email information regarding check in, keylock information, and to this day still cannot find said email. Fortunately we managed to find some staff close to their leaving time, who faithfully stayed with us until communications could be made with the booking office, and our keycode be obtained, and we could enter our room. We thank them very much.

Location good. Bed comfortable. Well equipped kitchen.

No facilities on-site as gardens and cafe closed. Very noisy with film crew right next to our apartment with generators running all night and cranes / lorries blocking our view. No explanation offered and no discount offered even though the facilities were not what we had expected.

Everything was provided for our stay. It was a home away from home including a full kitchen. We had a view to the castle from our studio and enjoyed the gardens and grounds which was included. Staff were very helpful. If wanting to view inside castle check tour dates as it's only selected dates.
