hon -Matcha no Yado-

Everything about this property was great. We had Yuri check us in and she was very helpful and kind. She offered us cold tea as we checked in. She even brought our luggage up for us when we said we can do it ourselves. The room is beautiful and the place in general is beautiful. We loved that majority of the room was tatami mats. It had a great ambience and vibe. There was a cedar tub and a huge shower area as well. That was a very nice touch. It’s not in the epicenter of Kyoto but it’s very easy access to the train station and bus stations. We were able to get around just fine. There’s also a hole in the wall udon place around the corner called Ganpochi that opens early for breakfast and it was the best udon I’ve ever had. It is a bit thin so you can hear through the walls but people were quiet so it was a peaceful stay. There wasn’t as many people who booked as well which I’m surprised. The price for this place was so good for what you get. Highly recommend and will probably stay again next time we’re in Kyoto.
