It was quiet and not a lot of traffic noises from the hotel

The staff there scared me because I had booked the hotel for 3 nights but they only registered me for 2, so I went and paid again for the third night and then they sent up the bill to our room on the second night. I didn’t know what to do or where to go, had to talk to the front desk. Then we had to get new key cards for that third night and the key cards didn’t work so I had to go back down to the desk to get them to give me new ones to let me in

Batteries died on our room door. But staff acted fast in replacing the batteries

This hotel had multiple opportunities to “do the right thing” to maintain customer satisfaction; however at every turn, they did the opposite. I would strongly suggest choosing a different hotel if you are staying in the Norwich CT area; there is a Courtyard Marriott just down the road. The experience was so negative that there is just nothing positive to say.

The first evening, we discovered stains on the curtains, couch and the walls, even the carpet was filthy, tattered and worn. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and smaller than we expected; we thought the room had two queen beds but they were doubles. When my wife took a shower she discovered that the shower/tub would not drain and we were left with a tub filled with water. The room door fit the frame so poorly that you could see out into the hallway through the large cracks around the door and it was so crooked that to lock the door, I had to lift up on one side of the door while turning the lock-knob. The next day, we explained the above to the woman at the front desk who agreed to switch our accommodations to a suite room. No word was mentioned of additional room charges; it was not until checkout that we learned that we had actually been charged double our first night’s rate ($100 to $200) for the second night. When we got home, we discovered that we left our laptop in the hotel room. I called the hotel and was told: “Oh yes, we have your laptop at the front desk.” They had my name and my cell phone number; had they just called me when they found it, I could have easily have picked it up before driving home. I was told my only recourse was to drive 3 hours back or purchase a FedEx shipping tag ($50), email it to the hotel, then they would box it and ship it to me. I made FedEx arrangements and when I called the hotel to check the status, I was told that the laptop was still there. When I said that I was told the hotel would be dropping it off at FedEx on Monday morning, she said: “We don’t do that.” When I asked for the manager's name, she hung up on me. Later, I received notification from FedEx that the package was in transit. When the laptop arrived, I saw that the hotel never put the laptop into a box, they simply wrapped two strips of packing tape around the label and the case and sent it.
