Hostal Santa Marta

The hostel was only a short walk to the port and the room was cheap. The staff were friendly and available.

The kitchen area smelt of cat wee and didn’t feel particularly clean. There were parrots and budgies living in very small cages which was upsetting, the parrot in particular had no space to move and seemed miserable!

It was nice to have kitchen facilities, but they were quite limited in terms of space and equipment.

The staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Simple comfortable accommodation for the nicaragua crossing.

The bed sheet had cat hair on top of it (I'm guessing a guest had allowed the cat in or the cat snuck in the room). We simply brushed it off and didn't say anything as we were so tired but just a small negative.

Stayed for one night while taking the boat to Nicaragua. The hotel is close to stores and the immigration office, and quiet. The person who runs the hotel is pleasant and helpful. The room was basic but clean. It has a fan but not AC. It was affordable. An ok place to stay if your taking the boat.

Very helpful staff that assisted us with photocopying our passports. Nice terrace kitchen upstairs to cook, eat and chill. Perfect location for the boat to Nicaragua.

Unfortunately the private room and shower does not have ventilation and combined with the high humidity it was like a steam room which made sleep quite difficult.

Great overnight stop for the boat to Nicaragua. 5 min walk.. close to a supermarket. Kitchen facilities. Good sized private room with ensuite for a dorm price. Fan was very sufficient. The staff can supply you with the printed form for immigration which was very helpful..

An atmospheric place not far from the main streets. You can have a good rest here. There is a kitchen, air conditioning. Friendly staff. And cute parrots!

I didn't expect it too much because the website grade was not high, but it turns out its all right. Friendly staff. The room is big. It's okay if short stay.
