Lovely ambiance. Atmospheric bar. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy bed. Good facilities in the room.

Having asked for toast to be served with our main breakfast it only arrived (with an apology!) after we had finished eating it!!

This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely corner of Yorkshire. Our room (Mallards) was very comfortable and well appointed. We particularly appreciated the open fire in the living room of our room, as well as the quality coffees / teas, fresh milk in the fridge, shortbread biscuits from the kitchen and complimentary sloe gin. All the staff without exception were warm and welcoming. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, and there was a good choice of dishes at breakfast.

We only stayed one night but would definitely come again! The lady in reception was absolutely lovely - very welcoming - in fact - all the staff were great and we felt very relaxed and ‘at home’! The hotel was pretty and our room was really large with a huge bed and lovely views over the countryside. We really appreciated the welcome gifts and the well- stocked mini bar but I was particularly pleased with the jug of fresh milk - no long-life plastic tubs! The ensuite sparkled and had a good range of quality ‘smellies’! We didn’t have dinner because we were elsewhere but breakfast was a delight! I had a ‘fine-dining’ - look - plate of artistically arranged fruit and berries followed by a toasted bagel and avocado. There was a good choice of meals and they were happy to adapt them. The toast was chunky and delicious too. Loved it all!

Had a really lovely night in a beautiful room. Used the pool, which was small but absolutely charming- a real treat as I was the only one in there. Hotel is beautiful, but very comfortable with lovely open fires. Dinner very expensive we thought for a country hotel. Staff all excellent.

Country style charm and character which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Customer service was first class.

Beautiful hotel, cosy and relaxing with great service

Food was of an excellent standard delivered by very efficient and friendly staff. Guest noise when moving outside of our bedroom were annoying and shower was inadequate.
