"Wonderful food, but rooms are overpriced"

7.0

We very much enjoyed the meals. It's as if the owners are actually chefs who have a dream to restore the lodge and run a B&B. The charcuterie board and other small tastes were excellent, including the whisky and cheese pairings! The morning breakfast was grand. Overall then, the food outshines the facilities.

The photos are very cleverly shot to hide the fact that this lodge sits on a very small property only 20 meters from the A85 principle road. They urge guests to accept the "quirks" of the old rooms which include thin walls, sloping and uneven floors, and unstable bathroom fixtures. The only problem with this acceptance is the price, which we felt was too high for the state of the room and the hemmed in property.

"Will not stay here again"

7.0

Location. Very comfortable bed.

No assistance offered to take luggage to second floor room (no lift). Previous occupant’s dirty towel left hanging in room. Shower had difficult access and water stopped running. Some room furniture not practical I.e. tea making area ver small in poor light. Beside metal crate surface uneven making it difficult to place hot drinks safely. Unsuitable evening menu and our choice was badly cooked.

"Warm hospitality in the beautiful countryside"

10.0

We liked the setting of the lodge with views of the surrounding hills. We very much appreciated the hosts, who spent time telling us about the area, their experience and recommendations, and certainly Robbie's excellent cooking, both breakfast and dinner. We had a nice hike directly from the house as well as from Killin, which was also had good places to eat.

"I enjoyed my stay very much and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area."

10.0

Gorgeous setting, historic building, clean & comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

It’s a little ways out there and kinda far ~10-15 minutes from the closest town. Would be tough without a car but with a car it’s wonderful and is a lovely place to stay.

"Good stopover with friendly staff"

9.0

This hotel is v handy just off the main road from lochernhead to tyndrum. V friendly and helpful staff . Room was a good size and bed v comfy. Clean. We slept well. Breakfast was lovely . Ate in the bar/restaurant in the evening of arrival. Menu is mainly sharing cold platters but v tasty and well priced.

The bathroom was a bit small for me at 6ft 2ins. With a very low hand basin! But shower was good and clean
