"Glorious snuggle hole"

10.0

Loved the location and the quirkiness. John and Sally were delightful and couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodatiing.

A sign for the annexe in the carpark would have been really helpful but we did find it

"Welcoming and cosy"

9.0

We had a wonderful, cosy stay here in the midst of a storm, clearing on the second day so we could enjoy the lovely views! The Annex was warm and welcoming, and the hosts made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Ensuite in both rooms was a bonus! We particularly loved all the little thoughtful touches, like blankets for the dogs, gorgeous canvases on the bedroom walls, and, of course, the hot chocolate station!

"Sadly we won't return due to the noise and it was pitch black outside with no lights. I fell twice!!!!"

5.0

Beds were comfy. Nice location. Well equipped.

Noise of main road and adjacent properties was very bad. Really upset the dog as it was like they were in the cottage. No Christmas decorations which was such a shame with being a few days from Christmas. It was pitch black outside which was dangerous and near the fast flowing river!!!

"A truly horrible, cold and uncomfortable stay."

1.0

Literally the only thing I can say that was pleasurable was leaving. I cannot think of a single redeeming feature.

The place was like a fridge, absolutely freezing. There were 2 portable electric heaters downstairs (no radiators, log burner or fire) and these were totally inadequate. The flagstone floor is obviously very cold and I needed to hang a blanket over the front door to try and keep out the draft. Secondary double glazing did nothing to stop the noise of the main road which this is directly on. The bed has the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever sat on. The ’en-suite’ shower was filthy, as were the ceilings (mould) but worse than all of this was the stench of damp which was overwhelming. Honestly this place was shocking.

"Cute but wouldn’t stay again."

6.0

The property was positioned on the side of the river in between two quaint bridges, very picturesque

The gardens were over grown and there was dog poo on the path and lawn, there were many daddy long legged spiders in the rooms and it felt like the accommodation had not been used in some time. We could hear everything the neighbours were saying and felt like we had to whisper when having our own conversations. The bathroom smelt damp and the beds weren’t very comfy. There was a hot chocolate station however looked like it had been there for some time. I did speak to John about our experience and he gave us a slight reduction in the price. However, the reviews did not reflect what we experienced.
