L'Arenile

Beautifully appointed apartment in a very convenient location of the old town. Very secure and safe. Great facilities. Comfortable bed which is rare in Italy. A stones throw from Cala Porta Vecchia beach. Il Catinale restaurant around the corner was fantastic. Marianna was a fabulous and attentive host.

The bed bugs became a severe problem. The bed linen was old and discoloured. The adjoining and surrounding residents (not tourists) were noisy. The unusable glass door from the main bedroom to the other apartments’ entrance shone brightly every time someone entered or left the building at night.

Nice furnishings and beach decor. The apartment was very clean, and the location was perfect - just a few steps to the beach, restaurants, and shops.

No parking but we found a lot nearby.

Great location in the heart of the old town just a few steps from the public beach. There is a lovely table with chairs in front of the quiet, well-equipped apartment for having breakfast and dinner outside. Welcome wine, water in the fridge, beach towels also provided. Train station 15-20 min. on foot, supermarket very close. Thank you, I will come back for sure!

The location was good in the heart of town.

The hot water didn’t work the entire stay. They tried to fix it, but couldn’t.

Lots to like; the location is close to the beach, bars, and restaurants. The accommodation, it had everything we needed. The mattress and pillows are worthy of a special mention. Not for a long time have I slept in such a comfortable (memory foam) bed. The thick walls regulated the temperature, so it was pleasant to sleep at night. Even a washing line and pegs to dry out swimming costumes and towels. Minor issues with the WiFi were resolved quickly by the owner.

A small issue of a bedroom window shared with the hall of the adjacent apartment could easily be resolved with a black out curtain at the window. Not to do with accommodation but info that would make arrival simpler: At the train station, there were no taxis to get us to L'Arenile. It was midday, and a 20-minute trek pulling cases over cobbles required a stop at a cafe. It might be helpful to have a buggy or taxi company contact number associated with the stay as there were no taxis at any time near the station that we saw.

We really liked this place. The house is wonderful, furnished in a typical style with beautiful details. Very clean. Comfortable bedroom, fresh bathroom, equipped kitchen, everything was great. Outside there was a nice place to relax with a table and chairs. The owner is extremely nice and friendly, she even drove us with her car from the station. There was also a bottle of wine and water for us. Thank you Marianna. We will come back with pleasure.
