Gorgeous location, great size and style!

More areas to improve than didn’t like: wood flooring needs filling in many places, our little boy caught his toes in very large floorboard gaps more than once. Mattresses could perhaps be updated for comfort.

Great location within a minute of the bars! Tastefully decorated and accessorised to our tastes! Comfortable beds and quality bedding too. It’s a lovely house, but our first day/night was overshadowed by a couple of issues. If we hadn’t had that happen, we would have returned (awkward). We have been visiting Kirkby Lonsdale regularly for over 10 years and have always stayed in either The Sun Inn or Platos (we stayed in another privately owned apartment for the first time the previous week, then decided to come back to KL after being home for a few days, so it was a last minute booking).

The 2 velvet sofas and the wooden floors around them were covered in white dog hairs and debris! The welcome pack was a pack of biscuits, not the wine, mixers and chocolate mentioned on all the other reviews! Contacted the owner about the sofa soon after…she apologised and said the cleaner would pop round at some point! The cleaner came the next morning with wine and chocolates(and admitted she knew it was a mess, but had broken her vacuum!! She also said because it was a late booking (booked the night before) the biscuits were all she could find! If only she had looked in the store room (key pad entry…but left open)…she would have found Prosecco, fudge and chocolates too (but we didn’t help ourselves! I cleaned the sofas myself the first day using a lint roller and the cordless vac from the utility room! But didn’t feel much like relaxing in there after what we had saw…we felt a bit uncomfortable with it all! The next day, however, we threw some throws over them and enjoyed a movie and drinks after being out most of the day (and a lovely meal at Avanti). If only the first night could have been like that!! I contacted the owner the day after we returned home…but just got a reply saying she was sorry and would look into the matters we raised! We have heard nothing since!

Beautiful Cottage and beautiful decor with everything you need for a perfect stay in a great central location.

I loved everything about the property.

Beautiful cottage, lovely decor, cosy and spotlessly clean. Right in the centre of the village - 3 mins from car park and includes a parking permit. We’ve stayed in Kirkby Lonsdale many times and this was a favourite. Charlotte was lovely and really responsive - would highly recommend.

You can't see the numbers on the key box without a torch, the light stuck on the wall didn't work, so maybe regularly check this. But managed with torch on mobile, so only minor fault
