Juan Placido Hospedaje

It was a newer building, which is hard to find in Cusco. It was just a bit refreshing in that way. The staff was friendly and tried to work with me when I had some issues come up. It also comes with a simple breakfast, which was a nice add-on.

When I initially got dropped off by Uber, the pin took me to the back gate. I stood there for a while and messaged/called the property but no one answered. Eventually I realized the entrance was a little more up the road. I didn’t realize they only accepted cash for payment, but fortunately I could use my USD. They didn’t have any heating options and the rooms run very cold so I had to bundle myself under the blankets the whole time. Made me want to not be in the hotel much. And it’s really not that close to the main square…like almost a 20-minute walk. If you’re trying to come back you have to go up a lot of stairs, so I just ended up ubering a lot which brought my overall cost up of staying in this hotel, versus somewhere closer to the city center.

Everything. The room was exceedingly cosy, and there was a throw blanket in the bed that I wanted to take with me. So soft and comfortable. The driver who picked me up at the airport was kind and made a point of showing me some of the more interesting things in Cusco as we drove by. Not to mention agreeing to stop by a pharmacy so I could buy medication. I had severe sunburn when I arrived and the staff was very kind to bring to my room the medication, water and food I ordered. The breakfast was delicious - their homemade strawberry jam is delicious). I urge everyone to stay there. Very good value for your money.

My plain is missed 3 hours, but they wait for me and I've got my room around 1 am.

The room was very cold, around 15 celsius degree and all of common place was same cold. My fingers were frozen there. I could do anything in the night, so I slept in the night in the cold room. In the morning I told to the receptionist the room what I booked not same as what I've got. There's no balcony, and no AC. (I thought I can heat my room with AC). The girl told me all of room are booked and no chance to change it. Then I went to eat a breakfast. I've got a very small scrambled egg on a dessert plate. A little bread and 3 spoon of jam. I've got a juice, but I dont know what flavours cause I can't identify it by flavour. So that was very poor. Then the girl on the reception told me, She found a room with balcony but I need to pay more. That was the final fact before I decided I want to go to find a better place. (I found it later) The girl on the reception is not spooked English and the building is under construction. In the attachment visible some pics of that. DON'T GO THERE!!! Finally I paid for 1 night cost and left it.

Friendly staff, cheap price, basic-breakfast but nice

Basic room, noisy because workers still work during early days and make noise and talk loud but the door is not soundproof. Room is basic, not decorated and no proper storage, no safe

The view was amazing! Lovely staff as well. Juan was of great help with any questions I had.
