"Quiet cosy place to explore the County Meath area."

Great location. Wonderful host. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast. Host very accommodating. Only a half hour drive from Dublin airport.

Ceiling height a little challenging for tall person.

Excellent location for Newgrange.

The Lodge is actually a cramped converted attic. No TV- No closet- No window - No egress . Breakfast was mini fridge on wheels with liquids. No expiration dates. No idea if sanatized between guests or just topped off and recapped. No private parking- street only and mind the curb. Donal is honest about amenities - just double check for yourself what’s missing before booking

He was very welcoming and made us enjoy our stay there was really caring for our needs and even leaving still made sure we can get to him anytime and we are safe. Would recommend to everyone really beautiful place and welcoming.

Donal is friendly and very helpful. Great tips on places to eat locally and local history and walk trails. Slane is a great place full of history and extremely friendly people. David the Butcher (produce looked delicious but i was only in for a chat). John and Myrka the publicans at Boyle's were so friendly to a solo traveller. are 2 examples of the fabulous welcoming people in Slane. The staff at Bruna Boine visitors center also great.

Attic bedroom is very small but comfortable. Despite the sign i did bang my head several times each day. Bedroom was only space available to guests in the house. On a rainy miserable weather day a nice comfy chair to sit and read in or look out the window would have been very welcome. Breakfast was OK. Would have liked to have a bit more variety than just corn flakes. OJ and cold scones with no means to heat them up. Everything was fresh and renewed daily. For a one night stay Forest Hill lodge is a good option.

We attended a wedding in Slane and the room was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Donal also kindly gave us a lift to the venue. Highly recommend staying here.
