We stayed at Shorena’s guesthouse in Tsvirmi on the first night of our 4-day trek from Mestia to Ushguli. We took the Zuruldi lift and then hiked about 10 km to Tsvirmi — an alternative to the standard route through Zhabeshi. We honestly preferred this path, as the stunning views begin right from day one. Tsvirmi itself is a beautiful, peaceful village, and Shorena is a warm, welcoming host. We were truly amazed by the dinner and breakfast she prepared for a small extra fee — it was the best food we had on the entire trek. In fact, we kept talking about her cooking for days afterward! The accommodation might seem slightly more expensive than some other guesthouses along the Mestia – Ushguli route, but considering that Shorena charges much less for meals than most hosts, the overall price was similar — maybe even cheaper. Highly recommended, if only to experience Shorena’s incredible cooking!

We shared the bathroom with the host’s family, and unfortunately, it was smoky inside, which made it a bit uncomfortable

It was perfect, everything we wanted from a guesthouse. Shorena and her husband were very nice people. They cooked us delicious food and made us feel very welcome.

The rooms were clean, and the breakfast and dinner were very good. After a full day's hiking, we felt really good here.

There was no wi-fi and the house was cold, there were no heaters in the rooms.

We enjoyed our stay in this simple yet clean accommodation. The traditional food served was delicious, and the wine was excellent. Shorena, our host, was very attentive and made our stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic local hospitality, food and atmosphere.

Incredible!! The best place I ve stayed at during my week in Upper Svaneti. They made sure I could warm up and feel comfortable after a very wet hiking day, and let me into their homely home, which was very heartwarming. The dinner and breakfast were DELICIOUS - I wished my appetite would have been bigger. Thank you a million to them for making this stop a very pleasant one!
