Received a text from the host roughly 3 hours after available check-in time that the property had been double booked and our booking had been cancelled. She is lucky I hadn’t already arrived and checked in. As you can imagine this was extremely disappointing and disruptive, meaning we had to urgently find alternative accommodation. I’m not one to ever leave bad reviews but this was unacceptable in my opinion.

The apartment was very clean and had amazing views. The owner is amazing. She was contactable the entire time. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. There are shops and pubs located just below the apartment. Over the weekend the pub had a live band, however this could not be heard from the apartment or the balcony.

No air conditioning which was really uncomfortable

We loved the location across the street from the beach at Brown's Bay. It was great for exploring the North shore, western beaches, as well as the inner suburbs and Auckland proper. One would need a car to enjoy this location, but there is a dedicated reserved parking space in the garage on the roof, which makes parking very convenient. We loved that there was a selection of restaurants as well as food shopping very close by, with an easy walking distance. We also enjoyed using the large patio in the evening.

I only have a few minor suggestions for what was an excellent day. I would appreciate a few more towels be provided, especially more than just one hand towel. A few of the appliances were quite different from what we were accustomed to (induction stove, washer/dryer that use the same compartment for both functions) so instructions as to how best to use these appliances would be helpful. For example, our induction stove was locked and we couldn’t get anything to turn it on until we figured that out with the help of the Internet.

Very spacious and in an excellent location. It had everything we needed.
