"Overall a good stopover in a great location."

7.0

Great location, good information before arrival about the local area, and good on-site pizza and coffee vans which made life a lot easier.

The main campsite's facilities were quite dated but serviceable. We asked for towels as we were walking (as per the pre-arrival information) but didn't get them.

"Only a small level up from basic camping"

5.0

The overall location was great- right near the coast path and with excellent views of bigbury and coast from the campsite overall, but just not from the bell tent as such.

The toilets/ showers were very tatty. The “kitchen” is really only good for heating water in the kettle- coffee pot completely impractical. Felt that overall the focus was on making it look nice rather than practical. Not good value for money.

"Bare minimum for your rent only to be used when nothing else is available."

The coffee cart and the life saving pizza van when we found that you need your own charcoal for the rusty BBQ!

No direction signs or help on site to find the Bell Tents when we arrived at 7:30pm from walking the coast path. No communication from owner telling us which tent to stay in. We worked it out by looking in each tent to find the one empty tent and made ourselves at home. The BBQ required us to bring our own charcoal which of course is impossible when walking the coast path. Don’t they know about gas BBQ? Woodern shelter was so draughty that the gas hob could not boil the kettle due to loss of heat in the wind. We found out too late that they do not supply towels. They didn’t even mow the grass around the tents so we had to walk through damp grass to get to and from the tent.

Easy access to the SW Coast Path. The tents were nicely decorated. Better suited for someone with a car given the lack of food options in the immediate area.

We did not feel that they were prepared for us to stay there. The bedside lamps were not charged so we had to improvise by borrowing one from another tent. The propane gas ran out while we attempted to cook dinner. As we rely on wifi to use our phones we had no way of contacting the bell tent hosts to rectify these issues. (And It was made very clear by the hosts in the campground below that they were not responsible.) Location of the tents are pretty far from the toilet/shower facility. Be prepared to pay to use the electricity in the facility area of the campground.

"As a SE Coastpath walker, it was a little over my usual budget, but a lovely experience and a fantastic bight’s sleep"

Location is superb. Those views as the Sun went down! Lovely vibe. Felt very chilled during my stay.

A bit of traffic noise.
