Good space. Good location. New building.

It wasn’t cleaned properly. Mould in the bathroom. Greasy kitchen appliances. Sheets were cheap and thin. The iron didn’t work. We were told that they wouldn’t replace the iron because they no longer supplied irons as clients kept stealing them. We said well why is there also an ironing board and any way it was advertised as having ironing facilities both on the website and the printed material in the apartment. I said they were legally obliged to have ironing facilities but they just apologised. They said they would remove the ironing board to avoid any confusion. So we bought an iron and they agreed to leave the ironing board.

Plenty of space. Clean and tidy.

Only one parking space for visitors for the whole building (30 apartments). No fan. It was warm weather when we were there. No free Netflix on TV. Make sure you tell the visitor which apartment they are staying in, instead of them having to ring and find out.

Location was good. A walk to the shops and restaurants.

The residents of the property were clearly uncomfortable having strangers use the building. We were told by residents we should have had a fob to enter the building - but that wasn’t provided. Instead we’d been given an incorrect code and after several failed attempts at entry and calling the provider for the right code we tried again, only to find that failed. Guezts had sent numerous flashy emails repeating information about emptying bins, not smoking, not having parties and asking us to provide ID and saying we’d have a £200 deposit taken in anticipation of any damages to the flat. However they failed to cater for the average mature couple who weren’t out on a bender! We simply wanted to get into the apartment for a cup of tea! We were in apartment 1. All floor to ceiling windows faced onto car parking with cars parked (not ours) about 4 feet from us, with people coming and going, whilst we sat eating or laid in bed. This meant blinds had to be closed all the time and internal lights left on. A truly claustrophobic atmosphere. On arrival some of the crockery was dirty. Two old wash-up sponges, which were encrusted with old food were on the draining board. There were no clean cloths or wash up sponges. There was out of date food left in cupboards. An old drying up cloth had been left in a cupboard that had clearly been there some time. We needed to use the oven once, but dirty, fatty deposits left by a previous occupant on the oven tray caused the apartment to smell of burning oil. There was an inch long tube of shower gel left for washing hands in the bathroom along with a small part used toilet roll. The panel at the side of the bath had come away and a long rusty dirty mark remained. The toilet seat wasn’t joined properly which gave an interesting jerk whilst seated, nearly tipping you onto the floor.
