Nice, welcoming, and helpful hosts. Authentic interiors (and exteriors!) reminiscent of an Indonesian grandma’s house. The homestay owners are unobtrusive, which is perfect when you just want to rest after a long, hard day.

The mosque is right behind the house, so keep in mind that you’ll be awakened every day at 5:00 AM by the loud call to prayer. It’s a good place for “Ice Bucket Challenges,” since the water from the tap is very cold and there’s no hot water at all. The interior is very modest. There isn’t an 'electrical socket at the bed' as advertised—you’ll need to charge your devices using a shabby multi-plug adapter by the bathroom door (one of my laptop’s ports stopped working after an overnight charge, either because of rural power surges or the unreliable plug adapter). Accommodation is a little bit far from the town's center, so it takes some time to get to the town and back every day.

The location is great. It's quiet but close to the city centre. The bed is comfortable. There is a fan that is totally adequate for cooling the room. The shared living space is suitable for several people. The hosts are able to assist with transport and site seeing. My medication was kept cool in the patron's fridge.

Could do with a table and chair in the bedroom to place belongings such as phone and laptop. A small fridge in the shared space would be handy for keeping things cool.

The owner is very nice, nice garden, tea/coffe/water.

Although the furniture was clean, the walls were not, which does not give a good impression. Lot of mosquitos, even in the rooms but no mosquito net and nowhere to hang them. The bed and mattress was very noisy and springy. A sink in the bathroom would be usefull, but thats not so common in many places in Indonesia. Mosque right next door is very very loud.
