Upstairs shower did not have a working thermostat so water either too hot or too cold. Downstairs shower was small and exposed to neighbours as no blinds at windows

Very comfortable stylish cottage in an excellent location

Lovely cosy but spacious home, everything I needed for a couple of nights stay. Very good communication with the owner, I arrived late and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a lovely fire. I am often in the area and will definitely return. I have no hesitation to recommend.

The cottage was beautiful, and the owners sent us some local information before our trip, which was fantastic.

Very comfortable in the cottage. Warm and snug on the chilly Yorkshire evenings. Everything we needed was provided and we appreciated the wine and biscuits left for us on our arrival. Beautiful views of the moors. The tiny village of Rosedale Abbey, just a mile and a bit from Dark Skies was lovely. There’s a good pub there too, called the Coach House Inn. Lots of history to absorb about the ironstone mining in this area and ruins to explore.

Perhaps an instruction book on operating the cooktop and microwave. We worked it out in the end but it was a bit complicated. Because the area around the cottage is farmland and sheep graze on the moors, there were flies to contend with. It goes with the territory I’m afraid, so make sure you pack fly spray.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything to make our week great. The cottage was situated quite a long way through little lanes, but once you got your bearings and knew the lanes we were okay. I had a bit of a job using the door code system, but managed in the end!!. The shower in bathroom could do with somewhere to put shower gel etc. Thats only a suggestion. Thank you to owners.

Mostly everything was brilliant, I could see a family really enjoying this cottage. I found the distance through lanes a bit far, but it is a lovely place. If you want a get away from it all, perfect.

Spacious quiet. Great location - good local walks. Comfy beds Lots of local history. We were able to top up our EV there - at extra cost - but very handy as we were 10 miles Fri the nearest public charger. Friendly neighbours. Most enjoyable!

Nothing really. Earlier guests mentioned a bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival - we only got the bottle - LOL! The summer skies weren’t dark enough for good stargazing - come in winter if that’s important.

The location was a bit far out from Pickering to walk too

Beautiful cottage that’s situated in a lovely quiet area. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean.

Kitchen drawers could do with a clean but it didn’t affect our stay.
