Golden Gate Ceylon

First: huge room as you see it , bed big and comfy, all you need is there. In addition the setting is perfect, far from main roads, it is quiet, no car noise, no pollution, immerse in a garden with Coco and banana plants, you wake up with birds singing. there are even the srilanka squirrels! Not sure the name.. Archeological park is far from town and huge, therefore you need a mean of transport anyway... But the most important thing were Ishani and her family. i was booking places for our holiday, when I saw this place and I decided that I was going to book all places run by local families, in order to know them more, the culture, the food. Also I know that srilanka people are very nice and I think they deserve to be known and to be rewarded directly. But I couldn't imagine we were going to feel so well here! They are all so incredibly nice. We had srilanka breakfast and dinner for the 3days prepared by them, great! I suggested them to set cooking classes! The big surprise was that they speak also Italian! So we chat in English and Italian! Leaving this morning was not easy, we felt at home. And I really wishto see them again. For sure we'll keep in touch. I don't think it'll be possible to match this great welcoming place during this trip.

Nothing, all perfect

It is a very quiet place with a beautiful environment and a suitable environment to spend time with small children safely.

Nothing bad to say. Great location and room facilities. We had a lot of fun.

Breakfast was great! This was arranged under a shady 'Arjun Tree' (Kumbuk in Sinhala) in the charming compound filled with bird calls, butterflies right in front of the room. It was so appealing, appetizing, delicious and wholesome. The hospitality of the owners of the Golden Gate Ceylon was great indeed. The place is so quiet, secure and peaceful. You will really feel the tranquil.

There is nothing we disliked as it was a bright sunny day!

Super Kind and welcoming family, offered to cook us dinner which was really amazing. The Place was also very clean and Nice, I guess quite New. I liked the Garden as well.

I chose the Hotel because of the Location, but unfortunately the Hotel is not located where it is shown in booking. Not sure if it was a mistake, an error or I guess and hope it was not on purpose to pretend a better Location. Anyway it should be fixed to avoid misleading or disappointing guests. But still would recommend it 10/10, since the real location is not bad because basically you always have to get a tuktuk anyways to go from a to b.

Very friendly! It is new and only one room so far. It is in a quiet housing area almost without any restaurant near by. But they offer you homecooked food (god price and not bad). The bed is very comfy. Some moskitos and no moskitonet. They provide a plug against moskitos (if you like this). They organized a good guide for a tuktuk tour 5h 10'000.- Quite expensiv i think but good and on time 5.45am
