large room. clean grounds. no insects. pool area was pleasant (although the water was not clear or clean)

It was difficult to communicate with staff in English or French. In addition, both staff and management need training in basic concepts. For example, I had an agreed checkout time of 12 noon-- but when I returned from breakfast at 9 AM, a staff was inside my room cleaning it and refused to leave. I had to summon the manager, who also did not seem to know what he should do or say. This was not a language problem--they honestly seemed to think it would be OK to clean a room three hours before one showers, uses the toilet, etc and checks out. This is only one example.

It’s true, it means just a bit of maintenance. But they definitely deserve better ranking.
