Maison typique, très agréable. Quartier avec restaurants etc ... Très proche du ferry et de l'arrêt de bus. Tout était parfait.

The bathroom smelled odd as if they just painted or they had a mold issue.

We found the house the best accommodation we could have gotten in Naoshima, especially for a group of 6 and >1 night stay. It is close to the ferry which is a huge plus. Restaurants are literally 3 min away. Other big pluses are: the availability of a dryer and the fact that the beds are on wooden pallets and thus higher from the floor (for older travellers it is easier to get in/out). Owners were very kind to recommend and reserve restaurants for us and allow us to leave our luggage at the house earlier than the official check in time. We recommend this property.

We liked everything. Future guests may want to be cautious if they go out of the back door to the area where the washing machines are. The way to the machines is via a wooden board that covers the ground (which has some holes). On top of the board there is a cover which obstructs the edges of the board. Be careful to walk in the middle of the board. My husband was not paying attention, stepped apparently on the edge of the board and sprained his ankle.

This is an updated traditional Japanese house style. So the bathroom features are updated and there is a modern throw TV projector w huge screen (but guide all in Japanese). Beds are comfy. KItchen well stocked if you wanted to cook. Mini refrigerator. Traditional Japanese bath shower room including a deep tub. Not a far walk from the ferry dock.

This is our issue but the traditional Japanese architecture is not made for six foot plus humans so door ways are not always tall enough. The TV unit was only sold in Japan so we could not find an English guide to it or figure out how to connect our streaming services into it. But we were not on the island for TV so it was only a minor issue in the end.

Charming and serene place to stay as a base for exploring Naoshima! Very responsive host who helped to book a dinner reservation for us at a yummy seafood restaurant nearby- highly recommended!

Having the space it has was incredible. The little veranda part with the seats, the little living room with the big screen and YouTube connected, through to a choice of three bedrooms and the kitchen. Incredible. The location was amazing - so close to the ferry terminal but in a cosy little area so it felt tucked away and private. The shower and bath were good too. We’d stay again in a heartbeat. Communication for the host was great with clear instructions on How to find it, where to park and how to get it.

The location is great - close to everything (including the bus to get around the island). The house is very comfortable, clean and stylish. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the front room looking out over the pretty, little garden (great spot to relax with a wine after a busy day touring). Would definitely stay again!
