Simone was an excellent host & everyone was really friendly. Breakfast of poached eggs was delicious. The log fire was much needed after a day on Dartmoor.

Very old and traditional

Atmospheric old pub on Dartmoor near Chagford and access to walks around stone circles and moors. Friendly welcome with good food and ale.

The landlady was extremely friendly and helpful. There was a lovely atmosphere with a roaring open log fire. Large plateful of tasty, well cooked food. Cosy, and warm room with tea and coffee facilities.

The bed. It was very uncomfortable. Hard with springs felt over its entirety. Such a shame.

The pub (staff and locals) was very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable. Pub food, lots of choice, good value and very generous portion (huge plateful!). Simone was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I would stay again if I'm in the area again.

Simone is great - we had a really nice evening chatting! Homely and rustic pub. Room was clean and warm. Both breakfast and dinner were good value and big portions. Will be back if in the area! Gabby & Miles xx

Simone the landlady was extremely welcoming and accommodating, the room was very reasonably priced and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty with very generous portions. I hope I can come back again soon!!

Nothing. Be prepared to drive down country lanes and make sure your vehicle is able to get here (especially in winter!!)
