Marari Beach Bungalow Resort Alleppey

This hotel is set in a really beautiful old building that is full of character. Loved the decor, furnishings and the beautiful antiques dotted throughout. The staff were fantastic, really warm and welcoming and always really helpful and responsive during our stay. Location was good, set just off the main road and only a short walk to the beach. The pool area was lovely. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food quality at both breakfast and dinner was very good.

Issues with the hot water - most of the time our shower was lukewarm at best (apparently it is solar heated). We were woken very early each morning by a local temple blasting out prayers through a loudspeaker. The hotel staff told us this was due to a festival and not how it normally is, so hopefully that’s true and we were just unlucky with our timing. No licensed bar or proper on site restaurant (apparently both are coming next year). You had to pre-order dinner ahead of time, and breakfast was a fixed menu (although very good). Limited food options in the surrounding location.

Location of the hotel was only a few mins from the beach. The staff were very friendly, looked after you always there to help with anything. Food was fantastic. Pool was a bonus. Everywhere was very clean. Would def recommend this hotel.

Excellent stay, everything excudes attention to detail. Very comfortable and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruits , juice and Kerala breakfast. A place were we would definitely want to return to.

The entire stay was just perfect. The owners , staff and the property didn’t disappoint. The room was cozy and comfortable with old school charm. This coupled with meticulously curated heritage props and intelligent interventions really knocked it out of the park. This is definitely a hidden gem.

Wonderful hotel. A restored Coir factory, the rooms are very spacious, beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. There is an excellent swimming pool set in a beautiful mature garden with lots of exotic bird visitors. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food some of the best we’ve had on our trip. Mararikullam is a very quiet beach resort and within a striking distance of Alleppey and the waterways. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful place, perfectly located to amble down to the stunning local beach. The staff couldn’t do enough for me, the breakfast and pool were stunning, as was the terrace room
