It's a lovely house with brilliant fundamentals - comfortable, spacious, warm, and in a great location, at least for us - a beautiful walk into the city along the Foss, close to a play area and park, and with bus stops near enough to help those with us that couldn't go that far on foot. It's in a lovely street, has a very nice garden and has parking. There's plenty of space in the house; three of the five bedrooms are plenty big enough for a double bed, while a fourth bedroom also has a double bed but is a bit tighter on space. The fifth bedroom, downstairs, has a single bed and very reasonable space. A conservatory is used as a dining area added to the generous kitchen. Everything is modern, if not completely flawless. It is, it must be said, really excellent value for money. Communication with the property people was good; they were friendly and helpful, and they answered promptly, too. We had a great stay and we'd be very happy to return some day.

There are some quirks to making the showers work, but it should be noted that once the trucks were learned, those facilities were good. I was worried initially about the security deposit arrangements, but that was not a problem at all for us in the end - it was returned the day we left and without any issues. I would add a cheese grater to the kitchen, personally!

Great location 20 minutes walk into York

Property does need a bit of TLC, more plates- oven trays etc - the floor tiles are lifting up in the conservatory, the back door has a gap and is difficult to shut. The oven door also has a gap and does not fully close but we had no problem using it.. Could do with a welcome pack in a folder just to let you know how too use the Tv , and heating system for the water, for the showers, could do with curtains in the front bedrooms, as the blinds let the sun in first thing in the morning. Perhaps leaflets on places to visit in York and local takeways would just give it that local/personal touch for your visitor's.

Owner was easily contactable, friendly and answered questions we had promptly. House is in a great position for acces to York Centre. We had a great stay and will be back.

Reported lack of hot water and pressure 1 day into our stay, host sent out an enginner who told us the boiler/pump had been installed incorrectly which is why it had a problem and told us it couldn't be repaired during our stay. After deciding to move out early at massive cost to ourselves and asking for a partial refund for the nights we weren't staying, the host accused us of breaking the boiler on purpose to get a refund...why would we do that when it cost us way more to find another place to stay short notice. Host has refused any refund and has retained our damage deposit. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The size and amount of people it would sleep. Also location within walking distance of the city

Lacking in kitchen items. Property needs updating, and was not clean. No guidance on bins or how to use tv. Feedback in detail already given.

The house comfortably accommodates 8 people. The rooms are spacious and have a beautiful dining area. The house was clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable. The location is good. It's a 20 minute walk to the city center.

The kitchen is not well equipped if you want to prepare a meal. There is no dishwasher, no coffee maker, and there are not enough plates for 8 people. The water supply for 8 people was problematic. The water would run out or be cold during the shower. Refunding the £200 fee charged for key collection is not easy if you are visiting the city from another country, as you need to have a bank account in the UK to receive it. The owner was adamant on this issue. Luckily I have a friend who lives there and helped me with this issue.

Lovely big house plenty of space and beds.

The plug in the bathroom didn’t work so we’re not able to have a bath. The property wasn’t the cleanest lots of marks on the walls and the floor wasn’t mopped before we arrived. Unable to watch tv in the main family room when we contacted the booking agent they stated it was a smart tv, it was not though as didn’t connect to anything, which was frustrating as would have been nice to relax in the evenings. Also the cable wires were loose and in the living room for the tv which was a safety hazard. Also the bins were completely full when we arrived and we were not informed of bin day in order to empty them.
