Ants are pervasive throughout French Polynesia. Every bungalow should have ant spray. Ours didn’t. No A/C

Central location and only a short 15 minute walk from the airport.

Hot and humid with no air conditioning. Therefore, we had to keep windows open at night. But the noise made it difficult to sleep (due to proximity to the airport). No curtain on the kitchen window, so the neighbours could see straight in. We had some cereal and biscuits (in their open boxes) on the dining table overnight. By the morning ants were everywhere and ruined the food.

If you’re looking for an affordable stay near the airport and are arriving during the day, this place could be a good option. The place was quite clean, within walking distance from the airport, and the host was very friendly in written communication. If you have a late arrival, I’d recommend arranging transportation in advance and being prepared for some difficulties in finding the place at night.

Getting to the accommodation at night was challenging. Taxis at the airport were not very friendly, especially when we mentioned we were not going to a big hotel, and some even refused to take us. The host had sent detailed instructions with pictures, which was helpful, but navigating at night made it difficult to find the place. We tried calling the host for guidance, but they didn’t answer. As for the house itself, the biggest drawbacks were the pillows, which were quite uncomfortable, and the kitchen window, which is very large and has no curtains, making it easy to be seen from the neighboring house.
