Villa Fortezza Antique Rooms

Nydelig frokost, idyllisk sted med en sjarmerende vert. Omgivelsene var flotte med utsikt og masse grønt, fine trær og et tårn fra middelalderen rett ved. Bassengområdet var fint, men badet ikke.

Ikke aircondition, men vifte, så kan nok bli litt varmt de heteste nettene.

Wir wurden vom Bahnhof Ascoli abgeholt, mit einem Café Coretto begrüßt. Die Lage der Villa Fotezza bietet einen tollen Blick über Ascoli auf den Monte Ascensione. Die Unterkunft liegt wunderschön im Grünen, am Hang der Festung und ist sehr ruhig. Besonders hat uns der Biopool und das Frühstück gefallen. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

This is the best place for many reasons. The building is ancient and artfully restored. You have to appreciate the way they have used clay plasters to create natural and stunningly beautiful surfaces for the floors, walls and stairways. Federica is the designer and collector behind the restoration and interior design work and I would consider her the Axel Vervoordt of Italy. You can also tell that Salvatore has owned multiple restaurants when you see the well-designed common kitchen area and enjoy his generous and delicious breakfast. The location couldn't be better. You can explore the archeological site just above this property where the ancient Piceno people built the foundations that the Romans subsequently built upon. Situated overlooking the town of Ascoli Piceno, you get breathtaking views of the town and surrounding mountains. You can multiple walking routes into town either down a well-lit set of stairways or via medieval alleyways that wind through to the town centre. We loved the town full of restaurants, shops, museums and historical buildings. The town has a good vibe and many local specialties. This town is one of the best places in Italy and Villa Fortezza is the the very best place to stay! We can't forget to mention how much we like Salvatore who was extremely welcoming and generous. He even took us for a drive through the mountains to show us the beauty of the place and an abandoned village high up in the mountain tops. We had great conversations and felt very much at home. We certainly will be back. The value we experienced was many times more than what we paid to stay here at Villa Fortezza.

If you visit this region of Italy and don’t stay here, you’ve done yourself a disservice. Salvatore is an incredible host and his property is second to none. The location, the super arty design, the hospitality, the breakfast, the cats - everything. 5 stars all the way. We want to bring our whole family here.

The most beautiful views across the mountains and the city of Ascoli Piceno. Salvatore was welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast served outside was delicious and plentiful - different every day with freshly cooked eggs, fresh fruit (including fresh cherries from the numerous trees on the property). Fresh Italian pastries and home made jams. Really wonderful immersion in Italian countryside with butterflies everywhere! Amazing accommodation with a full very well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable bed.

Not a complaint at all but be aware that if you don't drive into town it is a 10 minute walk down from the villa but via 400 steps. It's a lovely walk and I managed well even with two arthritic knees! Walking back up is a fitness test but totally doable in about 20 minutes. We are both 60 next year!

Die Unterkunft ist mit viel Liebe und Geschmack im Detail gestaltet. Altbau und moderne Architektur harmonieren. Auch über die Stadt bekommt man hilfreiche Informationen. Wir hatten durchweg eine sehr gute Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern. Das Frühstück ist mit Sorgfalt und selbst gemachten Produkten sehr vielseitig. Absolut empfehlenswert. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
