Location was perfect it's was everything was at least 10min drive from the apartment

The cupboards had a damp smell,I'm not sure how you can sort that out. And if you could put cushions on the wooden chairs on the balconies as they are a little uncomfortable to sit on.

"Nice apartment managed by friendly host but I would still choose hotel over private home in Mombasa"

Spacious and well-equipped apartment, with the fresh sea breeze coming through the windows. The area is one of the safest in Mombasa and the condo security controls access tightly. Host (hi Musa!) was responsive, attentive and helpful, going the extra mile for us. He gave us great advice and made sure that we were safe and had everything we needed. I would especially recommend this apartment to a group of friends driving to Mombasa for a beach getaway.

Because it's a residential area, there isn't much for visitors within walking distance so you will depend on tuktuks and cars (the host recommended a trusted tuktuk driver and make him available from the moment we checked in). Bathrooms are fine but could do with a minor refresh and maybe some shampoo. I understand that private houses are not normally equipped with hot water in Mombasa, and this is no exception. The condo pool (which is accessible for a very small fee) looked a little murky. None of these things are under the owner's control but it's good to have the right expectations.
