Clean and comfy, in a lovely location and the hot tub made the weekend

There wasn’t anyone on site when we arrived at the reception, bearing in mind the company knew what time we were due to arrive as I had notified them of this. We had to drive to the house nearby, and the lady who greeted us was snappy and not very friendly. One guest arrived later on in the evening and had to sit outside waiting for the gate to open for 20 minutes as no one was answering the buzzer. This also kept happening where we’d have to sit and wait for someone to respond to the buzzer as the fob to open the gate didn’t always work. There were no check out instructions so when it came to checking out we didn’t know what to do with the key, again there was no one on site to ask and no one in reception again. We rang the company but there’s no signal on site so this took ages. Check out is 10am but my friend came back as she left an item in the lodge, this was hours later and the lodge hadn’t been touched or cleaned. With this in mind the check out time could have been adjusted to 11. The kitchen could be better equipped, there’s one oven dish so cooking a full meal is difficult. There’s no oven gloves and the oven gets extremely hot very quickly so it is very dangerous to be expected to use a tea towel to get things out of the oven. The beds are comfy with the exception of the pillows which are very thin. With this in mind there should be two each on the twin beds as it’s like sleeping on a pancake. There’s only three water glasses which was one each, two would be better as we had to keep washing these up when we changed drinks. This would be very cheap for the company to buy. The dish washer doesn’t wash properly and smells bad. I feel that asking for a security deposit additional to the cost of the booking when the lodge is lacking this attention to detail is a bit cheeky. All in all we had a lovely time and the lodge is clean and nice to stay in, but it does lack this attention to detail and the customer service was disappointing.

Beautiful location, the hot tub, complimentary robes and slippers really made it feel like a private spa weekend. The bedrooms had plenty of room and the kitchen was well equipped. The hosts were friendly and there was plenty of room between the lodges to sunbathe and for parking.

Great location away from city centers / loud areas. Hot tub was great, nice lodge and well maintained. Would defiantly recommend and would go again!

Only issue was the wifi was a little slow, it also did drop out at times.
