Valletta Old Well Apartments

The shower and toilet wee spotless and it had a comfortable bed and hood tv, with well equipped kitchenette.

We had not expected a STUDIO as apartment was advertised. Also an airless basement with no ventilation and it was very damp with strong smell of polish on first day. Once that smell left we smelt damp and part of wall was mouldy.

The room was very close to points of interest of Valletta. The person who I called was polite however, when I really needed them for the cockroach, they were not available so I just left the room in the middle of the night.

The room was in the basement. There was no way to bring fresh air in the room, so the room smelled humidity and felt stuffed. Needless to say that on the third night I saw a huge cockroach and as Valletta has a huge problem with that, a basement is an easy way for them to access. That made my stay a nightmare so I had to leave to the room in the middle of the night. It didn’t have a big proper door, it was more of a room’s door-didn’t feel very safe, even though the main entrance had a proper door. I struggled to find the room as Google maps did not recognise the address I was provided with so I had a long trip around before finding the place. In the room, There was a bottle of water which I thought I could use as I arrived very late, it was not sealed which means it was not new. The place has no signal for phone it’s just Wi-Fi, so in an emergency no one can reach you via phone. The cockroach made the experience a nightmare.

The apartment was lovely and central

There is a workshop a couple of doors down which started work at 7.30am also the church bells were early too. Bed too soft it hurt our backs.

The location was prefect for walking into the city centre and exploring the museums around fort St Elmo. The apartment was clean and well maintained and easy to access with the lock box. Would recommend.

The place is clean and huge, and for sure makes a great summer location, when you are outside the whole day and want to escape the summer sun.

When you plan to spend some time at home during your holiday, don't expect the sun to come in and the whole place to be humid. The humidity can only be regulated with the air-conditioning, as it is not possible to open the windows. During the day the place is dark (Souterrain) and during the night the place is bright, as the streetlight shines in through the window, but it is not possible to cover the window, as it is too high.
