House in historic Winchester

Near center of town, everything walking distance. Slept our group of 4 comfortably

This house has a lot of potential and location was great. Very close to train station for our return journey to the airport and central to everything in the city centre. Comfortable enough interior.

The front of the house is very off putting. On arrival you are greeted by a small garden full of weeds that could very easily be dealt with. The back garden had a table and chairs and a hot tub but again it was extremely shabby and overgrown which wasn’t pleasant to sit in.

Great place! Very spacious kitchen with all the needed utensils, living room comfortable for 7 people, outside area with bbq and jacuzzi (was a hit!). All the areas were very clean, the communication with host was easy and quick as well. Surroundings were quiet for a good night sleep! Parking available nearby. Also Winchester is quite a lovely small city to visit. Highly recommend this place!

Group of 6 nurses based in Manchester attending local conference, so we all wanted to be in same location which this property offered, was convenient for local shops, taxis, parking etc. the house is set out really nice, was able to have BBQ in evening with weather being nice and the hot tub was a bonus. Any questions we had the owner replied in good time too and if we are ever back in Winchester again, then would definitely look at booking here again.

The whole experience was lovely.

It is a quirky old cottage in a good location, especially for the station and close to City centre. It has a comfortable lounge with recliner suite. Kitchen was well supplied with plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery, utensils, pans etc. Also t towels and washing up liquid and a large fridge. Although we didn't cook but ate out. Beds were generally comfortable and pillows varied. Cottage is over 4 floors with steep stairs but ok for us. Key entry was straightforward and we had the opportunity to drop off our bags early. There is a patio garden and hot tub but we didn't go outside.

The cottage and our stay were let down by the lack of cleanliness. The bathroom basin had no plug and was scummy with shaving hair. The shower was dirty around the base. The kitchen sink had coffee or tea splashes and was very stained. The kitchen floor was grubby, and the kitchen bin hadn't been cleaned. All the blinds were extremely dusty as were inside of bedroom cupboards and drawers. The lounge suite, although comfy, was stained. There were cobwebs on the ceiling light. The bedding was clean and warm but not ironed, which would have been preferable. It's such a shame because it is a lovely cottage with huge potential to be exceptional.

Really good location, facilities as described and good for a group. Host allowed us to drop bags by early which was most welcome. Quirky furnishings a great place for a catch up and to explore Winchester.

It was quite cold especially in the bedrooms and kitchen/dining area. Taxis appeared to have a problem finding the house.
