Great location. Very friendly and helpful host. Lots of good places to eat and drink round about and Rembetiko music in the bar downstairs.

Remember to update your arrival time. I was early and the place was closed.

Cool rooms with great location. The owner was really friendly and there was a live band playing at his bar located under the rooms which was fun. Also excellent food served there

The location is great, just in the centre of Heraklion

We send a message several weeks before telling our arrival was 5:00 am but never got answered. We sent the message 3 times, just in case, although the booking was confirmed. When we came we knocked the door but nobody came to open to us. We also called by the phone but nobody answered. We stayed in the street till 8:00am. At that time we tried to call again and the host told us there were no rooms till 12:00. He was upset with us for being knocking at 5:00am. We had to stayed in the street waiting for 7 hours. When we came to our room, the bed was not comfortable at all and we didn't have hot water either. The location is great but our experience was awful.

Doukas staff was fantastic, welcoming and friendly. They work hard, well and meet your every need.

If you look for sterile, clean room with all comfort, than Jorgos place will definitely not your choice. But if you up for a unique old villa, with a tavern in it that serves rembetiko live music, hosts gentle people, allows you to get in touch with the locals of the neighborhood and is owned by the uniquely nice and welcoming Jorgos, than go for it. Even the missing cleanness fits in this authentic, chaotic and charming ensemble.

Not a hotel vibe. You will be living in a 100 year old Greek apartment which I enjoyed.

It comes with challenges of 100 year old apartments. Some switches don’t work, doors creak etc..
