"Great stay for a family of 3, ideal location for all the sights!"

8.0

Perfect location in downtown Reykjavík, plenty of space for a small family and had all the facilities we needed. Very comfortable.

As it’s in the centre of town there is a bit of street noise but it wasn’t too loud.

"Very enjoyable 8 night stay!"

10.0

Stayed Sep 2024. First time staying in an apartment rather than my 43rd hotel stay. This apartment as a whole served my purposes well. It was warm, comfortable had good facilities (and in my opinion) one of the best locations for accommodation! You are close to bus stop 6 (for day tours and airport buses). Pubs and food shops are everywhere near by with a small grocery store 50 meteres away. The advertised pictures of the apartment are correct. I found a few things missing which would be "nice" to have. Such things as a microwave oven, some cutlery..though wood cutlery can be bought at the grocery store. A broom and maybe a mat or tray to place you shoes or boots in when entering the apartment would be good. The bed was comfy and the bedding was good. A full size pillow would be preferable to the current small pillows. Larger sized towels would also be better to wrap around. These are just a few suggestions to put the cherry on the cake. Reviews suggest problems with key and the lock. These were not an issue ...if you know how to use them properly. I stayed in Apartment "A" which has two full walls of glass. I kept curtains closed for privacy, which wasnt a bother for me as I never chose the apartment for views but location. The Elephant in the room is the outside noise and noise from neighbours (as residential apartments are above you). There is the occassional car doors shutting outside your apartment, people talking and walking by. Pretty standard sounds. The main concern may be noise on Friday and Saturday nights with revellers going by the apartment talking and laughing quite loudly. This might annoy you but for seasoned travellers you would be out partying yourself or be quite used to partying people being loud or even hungover in bed like me! Its a part of the holiday atmosphere. My stay in this accommodation was enjoyable. The location is excellent.

"Lovely clean space to stay in the city."

8.0

Loved the location and how clean and professional the apartment was. Communication and entry to the property was easily accessed.

The door lock is an issue and took a few attempts to gain access and lock it from the inside. The bathroom extractor fan would keep going off every 30 mins for no reason. This was a little annoying when trying to sleep.

"Mixed feelings, won't return"

5.0

If you want to stay in the center of Reykjavik, it is difficult to find a more central location. Bars, restaurants, and everything is within minutes by foot. Also, the Krónan Hallveigarstig grocery is literally next door. Getting the key was easy, as there is a key box next to the apartment. Checking in could not have been easier. The studio was well-equipped and clean. The kitchen is small but has all the essentials for cooking (even though there are surprisingly few spoons and forks), and the machines are newish and in good shape. Beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed was surprisingly solid. I could imagine that even a moderate-sized couple could sleep in it comfortably. We are a family of three (two adults plus a ten-year old) and the beds were just great. The bathroom is small but functional. Fastest WiFi I've ever seen (600M/600M/3 ms over WiFi)! It is usually possible to park a car just outside of the apartment at the same level, so there is no lugging heavy luggage in narrow staircases. The parking, though, is rather costly and limited to 3 hours, as it belongs to zone P1. On the other hand, this ensures there are free parking lots easily available. Night-time parking (between 9 and 9) is always free, and the less expensive zone P2 is very near and even more affordable P3 is only five minutes away. Completely free parking can be found about 8 minutes walking distance away (e.g., Laufásvegur south of Skothúsvegur), even though sometimes it requires a bit of searching. Some Googling and either EasyPark or Parka is required. Icelandic summer nights are very bright but the curtains kept the apartment dark despite large windows.

We stayed in Apartment A with two full walls of windows from floor to ceiling. Views were to a parking lot and trash bins with a lot of people walking by 24/7. So, the curtains need to be kept closed at all times which made the room very dark. There was virtually no sound insulation (earplugs were provided). The room was coolish and very humid probably because the radiators were between curtains and windows. Everything that got wet—clothes, footgear, towels—stayed wet. Even the clothes in our luggage got moist during the week. This problem was worsened by the fact that there were no places to hang anything to dry apart from a small tree-like coat rack. There were very few electricity outlets. The location is a two-edged sword. Great for city night life, not great for driving and hiking around the South. Driving to Road 1 takes a lot of time, as one must drive through sometimes congested town. The official address is on a busy pedestrian street, the real address of the entrance and parking lot is probably something like Ingólfsstræti 12. Getting around the corner by car is hindered by a maze of one-way streets. There were general instructions on waste sorting but no real instructions on what to do with the full waste bags. Just a comment that there are sorting points within 500 m. Don't cook fish. We had a major problem with the door lock. The only way to keep the door closed was to lock it from inside. Getting the key in and out of the inside lock cylinder was difficult, and the lock cylinder often refused to turn. Sometimes it took minutes to get the key in an coax the cylinder to turn. The host did not react to our polite request other than saying that the cleaning crew might have a look at it (which no-one did). Their dismissive reaction to our less polite comment after leaving was that "we haven't encountered such complaints from our previous guests".

"Passable"

The location on a ground floor to a very dodgy parking lot and alley, was not nice at all. No privacy to the street and not enough fresh air as it was really not possible to open windows, and no mechanical ventilation.
