Casa Galliera Bologna Centro

This is a spacious, almost palatial, apartment in a stunning central location. Being able to park our car inside the palazzo in an allocated place was a huge bonus. The beds were particularly comfortable and were enormous. The host was incredibly helpful and all in all the service was genuinely perfect. We stayed in Feb and were delighted to find that the heating was ample for our needs despite the building being old and large. There were some minor issues but taking these into consideration the value for money was still outstanding and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

We, 2 couples, arrived with a bottle of champagne but the glasswear was grim, not that we were expecting champagne flutes but 'really' the existing glasses all need putting in the bin and replacing with 6 wine glasses, 6 water glasses and 6 tall tumblers - a trivial cost. The towels were small, thin, rough and just felt cheap - but they were adequate. We stayed in Feb and the heating was more than enough to make it comfortable but it has stone floors throughout and some sort of mat or rug by the beds would have really helped those freezing cold feet moments. Lastly, for drying hair and makeup there are no mirrors in the bedrooms (OK there are mirrors in the bathrooms near power points but bathroom mirrors fog up and using the bathroom prevents others from having showers or using the toilet) - consequently, both the ladies ended up kneeling on the floor in the hallway to dry their hair - again such an inexpensive thing to fix. Others have complained about the keys, indeed there are lots of them but still even a child could manage! Others have complained about the street noise in one of the bedrooms - it is true and inevitable for every apartment in Bologna with single glassing on a street but we enjoyed ourselves every day and were tired enough to sleep well - if you can't beat them join them!

The apartment is very spacious and very well appointed and in an excellent location. The hosts Maria and Stefano are thoughtful and helpful and ensured our stay was an easy and very enjoyable one. Rooms are large and well furnished. Via Gallieria is an interesting street with a very good bakery, restaurants and cafes and some unusual and interesting shops- offering a more engaging walk into the centre than the direct route to Piazza Maggiore, Via Independenzia. A great place to stay- thank you.

We had a great time here; Bologna is a lively, interesting, fun and easy city to be in.

Very large and clean. Beds firm and comfortable. Maria and Stephon exceptionally friendly and informative. Easy walk from train and to major sites.

Bedroom on street side can be a little noisy, but not a fault of the apartment!

The apartment was large (two bedrooms and two full baths) with lots of windows. The apartment was lovely. The host was wonderful to meet us to show how to access the apartment as well as giving us suggestions of places to eat and visit. I would highly recommend this place.

There are no shampoos and soaps in the showers. Adjacent to an area where vehicles are not allowed to enter, therefore you must (!) be careful and stick to the directions for arriving with your vehicle. A bit tricky at first.

This lovely apartment is nice and big and comfy! I felt very safe and secure here and the street is lovely. Two of our favorite coffee shops (Allegra and Forno Brisa) were located a very short walk from the apartment. Maria was so sweet and helpful.
