Great quiet rural location with loads of space in a cottage with history in its bones. Able to park right outside. Comfy spacious bed with good thick quilts. Excellent internal WIFI. Communication from Simon the owner was great. Nice touch of wine and chocolates on arrival, Thanks. However...

The Rayburn AGA is on its last legs, on the first night it refused to start so no heating. Hot water only via the immersion heater. Simon was most apologetic (and did try to get an engineer out but failed), but sympathy doesn't help when your sat in a cold room! After much cajoling and numerous resets, the heating finally came on and at one point I even had a cooker! Reading previous reviews, it seems this is not a new occurrence. If you're thinking of staying over the Winter, I would suggest contacting the owner to ensure the AGA is now working 100% before you book. If it did have heating, I would recommend 100%.

Great location for Stonehenge, Avebury, and of course walking with your dog. The cottage was warm, clean and very good value for money. Would definitely return.

There are two set of stairs one set is very short on the foot space. It’s to be expected with these old buildings. There is an hand rail I suggest maybe another rail on the opposite side. It’s a tricky one. Cottages have their oddities and that’s why we love them.

The cottage was perfect, loved it. The garden was also beautiful, my dog loved it.

Loved spending 2 nights here with my family on a quick getaway to see Stonehenge. Quirky country cottage in a sweet little town with a picturesque river, cute coffee shop and some delightful guerrilla knitting. Lovely pub nearby called the Dog and Gun which did outstanding food and also kids friendly. The beds in this house were enormous and possibly the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. Our favourite feature was the secret passageway between the two big bedrooms. Living rooms was cosy and comfortable with a good sized tv for the kids to watch cartoons. Kitchen was well equipped and a good size for both cooking and sitting in (comfy sofa for drinking a cuppa). Definitely recommend this house.

This is a really nice sized property with lots of character.

Heating stopped working and also the hot water although we could overcome the issue with the water by using the emersion heater. One day we had cold showers and we did take blankets with us do at least we could keep warm. I should also mention the wood burner is locked up so could not be used, disappointing as when you stay in a country cottage the wood burner is part of the experience.

Het was een gezellig dubbel huisje, waarbij je even terug gaat in de tijd. Erg leuk! De tuin was ook heel fijn! Dichtbij Salisbury/Stonehenge.

De boiler aanzetten om warm water te krijgen was even uitzoekwerk. In een badkamer was geen douchescherm aanwezig, waardoor de hele badkamer nat werd en bleef.
