Northstay - The Urban Cityscape, Central & Modern, Sleeps 5

The location was convenient and there were English channels on the television. That’s a great iron! The dishwasher was complicated to start but it was good to have it and the washing machine was welcome.

The broken shower door was a shame and caused the shower to leak. The shower drain is clearly blocked and needs resolving. The cupboard in the bathroom is also broken. The property could have been much cleaner. There was rubbish and dust behind the bedside table in one bedroom and dust under the beds. The toaster was full of burnt breadcrumbs and underneath three microwave was sticky and filthy. Superficially it looks clean but sadly when things are moved its clear it’s not. The oven extractor hood isn’t connected to anything and therefore doesn’t work at all. There are lights in the lounge not working. There are a couple of broken drawers in the entrance hall, so be careful when opening. Rubbish is complicated in Tromso and there were no instructions provided when we arrived. The windows need washing. Just be careful with parking as it’s very expensive to park so pick your location carefully.

Great location for bus stop, trips, bridge and shops. Lovely large apartment with plenty of space. It was very warm inside even though the weather was cool outside.

Bedrooms were a bit small for a large apartment. Very confusing recycling arrangements. Not owner's fault but the 4 days we were there outside was getting painted with scaffolding up - reduced privacy and also reduced visibility as they put up green netting too. A little more information about finding the passage to the door would be good.

It was close to all activities

The locatiom is perfect. 5 minutes far away from Storgata. It would be nice to have some instructions about parking: meaning of the signals, and so on…. It helps to organize. This issue can add value to the local information for the arrival.

We loved this modern apartment just a short walk from Tromsø centre. The kitchen-diner-lounge space was very welcoming and the view from the windows of the mountains is terrific! The bedrooms, while on the small side, were big enough and comfortable. As mentioned, Tromsø centre can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes (even in snowy/icy weather) and there are plenty of amenities (supermarkets, cafés, restaurants etc) close by. We also were able to reach the harbour front within a few minutes and saw the Northern Lights without leaving the city! Overall good value-for-money, though a few minor improvements would really push this apartment into a ‘superb’ rating: we initially did not have enough towels but the hosts were very quick to rectify this so not a major issue. We also found that certain aspects of the home had perhaps been missed during cleaning (e.g, lots of dust under beds and sofas) and the shower tray blocked very easily to the point of almost overflowing which caused some concern! Addressing these small issues would definitely improve our overall score, but we would be happy to stay again regardless! Recommend for small groups staying in Tromsø who would like the benefits of an apartment over a hotel 🙂

Location is good. Walking distance about 15 minutes to city centre. Bus stop is about 300 m away.

Cosy and clean apartment. Host is very responsive. Walking distance, about 10-15mins walk to city centre and meeting points of our day tours. It was a great stay!
