Steps Garden Resort has some new hosts that are friendly and make you feel at home ! The speak the best English in the whole island ! There is a restaurant , a swimming pool and a whole garden area with many plants and ponds. Also you can have some massage sessions.

I didnt give a bad review because I know that they want to change many things. What I would love to see if I ever come back is : 1) more lighting to the whole area till reaching reception ( since we checked out late night ) 2) Someone to help with the luggage during night check out ( it was a bit difficult carrying 4 suitcases from the treehouse on our own )

Ankom midt om natten med gratis lufthavns service, og det fungerede super fint. Meget venligt og smilende personale. Veltilberedt mad, som smagte virkelig godt. Pæne rene værelser.

Tror det var ejeren af stedet, som solgte os en meget dyr taxa tur. Vi blev hurtigt klogere, og kunne køre væsentligt billigere rundt på vores ferie. Men den kloge, narrer jo den mindre kloge, som man siger.

"Lovely place recommend"

Close to the airport, lovely friendly staff and airport pick up. Rooms clean and grounds lovely.

Unfortunately we didn't get the room we had booked so ended up in a much smaller room with less beds.

"With good but also with less good"

I liked the garden, the pool and the employees.

I stayed 4 nights. During this time the room was never cleaned. Upon arrival there was no toilet paper, there was never hot water although there was a water heater in the bathroom but it was faulty. For two people there were only two towels that were never changed. At the pool there were some very dirty towels that were not washed, while I was there they put them to dry on chairs and the next day they gave them to tourists. I asked for a grilled fish for my birthday, they brought it to us fried, when I asked for the bill the manager said we pay on departure without knowing how much we had to pay. For a fish for 2 people, cake and a bouquet of flowers they asked us for 82 dollars on departure. Very much for the prices in Sri Lanka. I left with a bad impression of the manager and his wife. Although we were nice to them, we left a gift for them, because his wife was the waitress and served us $30 at the table. But apparently they weren't satisfied and overcharged us. He also didn't give us an itemized bill when we left. He showed us an amount in dollars on his phone and then while we were looking in his wallet for the money, he added another $20. Honestly, I was embarrassed to ask them questions and I paid the whole thing.

Wir hatten eine gute Zeit im Step Garden Resort. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das frühstücksbuffett war ausgezeichnet. Wir haben den ganzen Tag am Pool verbracht. Außerdem gibt es auf dem Gelände viele Pflanzen und Kräuter zu entdecken.

Friendliest staff and owner We loved the garden and the pool Convenient after a long flight- they picked us up from airport and recommended a nice tour for our day

Would have loved a blanket rather than a sheet but we managed for a short stay

"Precioso lugar con una gestión y un mantenimiento deficientes"

El lugar, ubicado a las afueras de Negombo está muy bien planteado para llegar o salir del país, especialmente, el planteamiento de recogerte o llevarte en el aeropuerto. La piscina está muy bien para ir con niños, aunque está ubicada con poco acierto, pues está al lado del comedor, y son dos actividades que a menudo interfieren. El jardín y los alrededores son muy lindos, sobre todo para despedirse de la isla.

La relación calidad precio está un poco inflada, de forma que, desde nuestro punto de vista, se cobran sobradamente el servicio de traslado al aeropuerto. El servicio del personal es muy desigual, habiendo una persona muy atenta, a la par que hay varias con las que la comunicación es inviable, porque no entienden inglés, mientras otras están más atentas a hacerte gastar dinero que a ofrecerte una buena atención. Las cabañas: solo tienen una llave y, cada vez que entras o sales, la tienes que cambiar de sitio, porque no hay manilla por dentro. Las puertas chillan como en una película de miedo, con lo que para ir al baño o para salir y entrar despiertas a quien está durmiendo. La cocina compartida que anuncian no existe, a pesar de que en la cabaña hay un hueco dedicado a ella. Es decir, la han eliminado pero no han eliminado la publicidad que hacen de ella. Es una buena muestra de lo que es la gestión de este lugar. Al llegar, te hacen una bienvenida que parece anunciar un trato exquisito pero, no te hagas ilusiones, es mera pose. En este espacio, muchos no saben inglés, con lo cual no hay posibilidad de comunicación. Y parecen ir a lo suyo. Encargamos la comida dos horas antes, especificando que la comida de los niños la queríamos sin picante ni especies (un pollo a la parrilla). Cuando llegamos, todo el personal escenificaba un ritual con un supuesto jefe en pleno comedor mientras empezábamos a comer. El pollo para el niño venía frito y lleno de chili. Por respeto, y para no poner en evidencia a la cocinera delante del jefe, esperamos a decirlo pero, al expresarselo a la cocinera, hizo como que no entendía, nos trajo plátanos y nos ofreció huevo (nuestro hijo no come huevo), sin buscar una solución real a su error. En el desayuno, alguien del personal, nos ofreció un zumo para los niños, cosa que ofrecen en todos los desayunos de la isla, pero, cuando fuimos a pagar la cuenta, vimos que nos habían cobrado 6 dólares por cada uno.
