Steps Garden Resort

Convenient to the airport and good to have the free shuttle. Breakfast was basic but perfectly good. Staff friendly. Reasonably priced massages and the pool are bonuses.

We wore earplugs as there are several flights overhead all night. We expected this and was fine.

The pool and the beautiful gardens gave a great place to catch our breath after a long flight with the kids.

It seems to be a Sri Lankan thing, so not specifically of this resort only, but when ordering food it can take up to 1,5 / 2 hours for the food to come. It's freshly prepared and tasty but with little hungry and tired kids it's not ideal. Steps garden Resort was super friendly though and when we 'complained' they offered us a discount on the meal that was later than expected.

La sympathie du personnel et ses efforts pour résoudre les problèmes

Nous avions réservé une chambre double sans chambre au dessus, quand nous sommes arrivés nous avons eu une autre chambre avec des voisins dans une chambre au dessus. Infernal, ou entendant tout, avons demandé à changer de chambre pour avoir celle réservée. Il a fallu attendre minuit pour l'avoir. Les horaires pour le petit déjeuner sont courts, dernier délai 9h !!!! un peu tôt pour les vacances . Nous avions réservé pour 2 nuits car notre vol retour était a 22h, donc pour être tranquille et ne pas devoir libérer la chambre à 12h et prendre une douche avant notre départ, avions payé 2 nuits pour n'y passer qu'une. A 11h30 on reçoit un message nous demandant de libérer la chambre pour midi, il a fallu se battre au téléphone pour profiter de la chambre que nous avions réservé, car nous étions parti visiter le marché aux poissons.

The Staff were the first thing to mention. So kind and helpful and can’t do enough for you . Then the location is just perfect for stopping before and after flights as it’s close to airport . I stayed in the tree house which was tucked away over a lake with a lovely balcony to watch nature and sunrise and sunset . Nestled around lovely gardens and plants there are many gems of rooms here . I booked to stay again straight after my first visit .

It’s not the properties fault but it’s just to note that rooms are man made so not sound proof so you will hear noises from those staying above or below you .

Przemiły, pomocny personel , smaczne śniadania i kolacje, fajny basen , świetna atmosfera , darmowy transfer z lotniska. Hotel zorganizował nam też fantastycznego kierowcę z którym jeździmy po Sri Lance .

Piękny ogród, zwierzątka, basen. Dla nas było to idealne miejsce przed długą podróżą do domu. Sympatyczna pomocna obsługa. Bez problemu check out w nocy i transfer na lotnisko. Pan nam nawet stukał w drzwi bo trochę zaspaliśmy :) niedaleko spory supermarket

przyjechaliśmy do hotelu popołudniu, po dość męczącej podróży. Poszliśmy do restauracji by coś zjeść. Zamówiliśmy jedzenie - Pani powiedziała, że czas oczekiwania na posiłki 40-50 min czekaliśmy 1,5h. Jedzenie naprawdę średnie. Zamówiliśmy również kolacje na 19.30. O tej godzinie pojawiliśmy się w restauracji myśląc, że wszystko będzie gotowe… i znów czekanie godzinę na posiłek. Pytanie po co umawialiśmy się na konkretną godzinę? Niestety jedzenia nie skończyliśmy. Nie było smaczne. Ja niestety się nim zatrułam.

The staff were lovely; very helpful and friendly. The gardens and pool were fabulous and very well kept. There was a lovely terrace for drinks and meals. The room was clean and well maintained. The communication was excellent and the airport pick up went smoothly, even though it was very early in the morning. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return.

The location was a little out of town so if you want to try different restaurants you would need to get a tuk tuk.
