Staff in the restaurant were great

Excellent location for what we needed and a very clever security set up for guests - made our stay simple and seamless but it came at a cost. Idyllic surroundings and cute set up on arrival with excellent staff - but it was a little disappointing in delivering what it promised. The pub and restaurant were really lovely - when we stopped for a night cap on Christmas Eve it was a real shame that the fire wasn’t roaring - it was close to last orders admittedly.

The rooms were quite small, pokey even. Not much storage space and the bathroom was a tight squeeze. A lot of noise when patrons were leaving the pub, and walls of rooms were very thin. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and noisy, just turning over woke me up because of the creaks in the base. Curtains didn’t close properly and were falling off the rings. There was also an issue with something scratching and scraping in the space above the room - which was reported. This place could be excellent, sadly it didn’t deliver on that front.

The friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.Tasteful decoration. Excellent food. It's not very often I get such a good vegetarian choice. Rooms were cosy, bed very comfortable, spotlessly clean.
