Red Dragon Cottages nr Mt Snowdon

Location was great. Snowdon behind you, with the Watkins path just down the road. The village of Beddgelert just up the road a short drive or a 2 mile country walk, where there are pubs and places to eat. Anthony was a great host and very knowledgeable of the area and places to visit.

Anthony was easy to contact and quick to respond. The accommodation was as described and was ideal for our needs. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. The bed settee in the lounge was ideal for watching TV comfortably.

The location is just fantastic. The Nature around is just perfect. It is Snowdonia, what else can you say!

The kitchen was poorly equipped. It is just uncomfortable. A bag for bedding wasn't provided, however we were asked to put it into a bag. Wifi was also very poor. I guess such a high price for this accommodation is only because of location?

The holiday cottage is situated between Llyn Dinas & Llyn Gwynant, about 2 miles outside of Beddgelert & about 5 minutes walk round the corner, to the start of the Watkin Path up Yr Wyddfa. Both rooms are en suite & the lounge is nice & cosy with a TV & DVD player. The self-service kitchen was great & a small carton of milk was left in fridge for our arrival - which was a nice touch! (The nearest shop is in Beddgelert & closes at 18:15). The communication was great & the entry/exit system works very smoothly. The feather duvets are so warm & comfy! Everything was squeaky clean throughout.

It was fine for our purposes, but if utmost seclusion/privacy is paramount for you, just bear in mind that the cottage is adjacent to a site of "glamping pods" so people do tend to walk around the cottage at all times.

The location

The property had a bad smell in it when we got there plus it states it’s a house but it’s more like a out shed on the side of the house. If you have asthma don’t stay here as it has duck fever bedding. To get the telly to work it’s plugged into two extension leads which isn’t good coz it’s a fire risk! The place smelt of damp and had only one window that opened. I won’t be staying here again
