Vintage Beach House

The house itself is so cute, full of character and so homely! Room was nicely spaced, bed was super confortable, bathroom shower had nice pressure and it was all very well cleaned. Location is amazing, less than 5 minutes to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and tram to Porto centre. The best part though, I have never experienced such a warm and welcoming check in, Rui and Wanda made us feel right at home and walked us through the story of the home which changed the experience completely and made all the guests feel at home and comfortable to use the rest of the communal facilities. I loved my stay here and would definitely book again!

Honestly, we absolutely loved everything! It's not a perfect place but its a home away from home.

Es un sitio perfecto para disfrutar de Matosinhos. Al lado de la playa y con todos los servicios. Luego la casa esta decorada con muchisimo gusto. Muy recomendable.

En general todo estaba bien.

They were so welcoming. House is spotless and filled with history and family mementoes. Fabulous location. Beautiful bedlinen too.

Het was heel schoon tot in details

Location is excellent, for the beach, restaurants, shopping, airport, City of Porto. Uber is 9euros to Porto Center or the airport! The property itself is in excellent condition and lovingly restored. The house is 200 years old and therefore is not modern and comes with limitations but knowing that makes acceptable! The communal areas are cleaned daily and those areas are well presented and even if it is situated on a cross roads, by 10pm it is quiet. Sharing a house wasn’t an issue and the place was extremely quiet! Hardly saw anyone through out the week we were there. Though room cleaning is not part of the service we asked for towel changes and it wasn’t a problem! The cleaner was lovely, and so was Rui.

Very squeaky bed! Sharing good storage means it is likely someone is going to use your food or milk!! A bit like being in student accommodation!

The house is full of character and so in keeping with the history of Matosinhos. It has been beautifully restored and maintained by the family who own it (and also run the Penas Surf School on the corner), and the location is perfect - within a few minutes' walk of the beach and sights such as the Casa da Arquitetura and the Pinhais sardine factory which are on the same street. Lidl is around the corner. Free port wine from decanters in the lounge is a nice touch.

As its same suggests, the house is old and our attic room (The Aunt's Bedroom) was small by modern standards. There was very little desk or table space on which to put things down, too few hooks and hangars, and the tiny storage room and bathroom were so low (because of the sloping ceiling) I had to crouch. There is too much clutter in the room (dried flowers, plant pots, etc) and in the self-catering kitchen, where the table was so covered in trinkets, vases and flowers that we felt we weren't supposed to use it. Weak batteries in the TV remote stopped it working.

Fantastische locatie, lekker dicht bij het strand. Warme ontvangst met rondleiding door het guesthouse. Zeer mooi pand waarvan de gedeelde ruimtes met liefde zijn ingericht. Onder andere een keuken die meer dan volledig is ingericht met alles wat je nodig zou kunnen hebben.

kamer met twee 1-persoonsbedden (lees: stapelbed) voldeed, maar was in verhouding tot de andere ruimtes, aan de krappe kant en ondanks de airco, wat benauwd. Eigen badkamer op de gang. Alles erg schoon.

Very welcoming host, great stay, and everything was smooth and easy. i liked the concept :).
