Castle Yard Cottage

Cottage was beautiful, clean and all amenities to enjoy a memorable stay.location was fantastic . Back garden was a plus, very quiet and spacious with seating for eating and relaxing.

Only negative and this was due to us being 73 years old, was steep stairs did not have a bannister. But raised our concerns to Claire and she is in the process of having a thin bannister inserted.

We chose Castle Yard Cottage for a spontaneous one night stay and we had a fantastic short stay. From the location of the cottage to the facilities in the cottage, we could not find fault. In the short time we were there, we sat in the patio at the rear of the property and took advantage of the Log Burner in the siting room later in the evening. The added bonus was the annual Great Knaresborough Bed Race on the day we arrived, which was a great spectacle to see.

Dirty bedding had to wash it so we could use the broken bed. Told to leave by owners if we weren't happy. Lots of issues facilities. Only stayed for one nighr

Such a lovely little cottage, superbly located near the town centre. The cottage has been well restored and retains character while also offering lots of home comforts and modern convenience. The cottage is tastefully decorated and equipped with quality appliances, i.e. an instant hot water tap ( we're converts!). I'd booked it as a base from which to celebrate my husband's birthday and it lived up to the occasion :-). The luxurious large bath is great to return to after a long day out! Easy walking distance of trains and buses but we needed to use our car and the owners were so helpful, providing really useful tips for drop-offs and parking.

Excellent location. Beautiful cottage. Felt very cosy and had everything we needed. Garden area was great. The town is incredible.

Slight damp smell in the bedroom.

We loved the cottage which had everything we needed; the bed was particularly comfy. We loved the central location and found Knaresborough a great place to spend a few days. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the train station, so we travelled by train.

We liked everything.
