The bed is a bit hard, you feel the structure inside it.

Amazing sea views from the bedroom and cafe, there is also a roof terrace with views of the bay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they helped me arrange a reservation at the restaurant and showed me the best place to swim nearby. There is also free access to a washer/dryer for laundry which was really useful. Really easy walk from here to the port. Recommend hiring a bike from Setouchi Karen which is on the way.

The only issue was the bed/pillow, it wasn't very comfortable unfortunately.

The view

Apart from the property itself, the people were the most amazing part of this experience. They were engaging and so helpful. I hadn’t reserved an electric bike and felt stranded. They went out of their way to secure the rent of an e bike rental. Including showing me how to work it.

I do not recommend staying here—avoid it if possible. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in a very long time, and the worst of our entire trip in Japan. And it's definitely not a 4star hotel ! The value for the price is terrible. The hotel design is extremely poor. We were a couple and were given a room consisting of four tiny single cells with no space to sit, relax, or do anything. It's the poorest hotel room design I have ever seen in my life. It felt like a student dorm. It's not the pictures they advertise on their website. The staff said the hotel was full, so they could not give us another room, but we barely saw other guests. It felt like a lie. The rest of the hotel is the same: a terrace with nowhere to sit, as if the architect did not want you to enjoy the space. It's definitely not cozy. Other issues include: No bike rentals are available (you must walk 30 minutes to the village to rent and return your bikes). The breakfast is subpar, served in a cafeteria-like setting, and you have to pay for everything (and it mainly offers poor-quality frozen food). Everything, including coffee, tea, and amenities, incurs extra charges. Late check-in at 4 PM and early check-out at 10 AM. The staff informed us at check-in that no one was on site after 9 p.m.—this was basically the only information they gave us (nothing else about the island), which felt unwelcoming. The 'sea view' is more of a view of the street. The staff is nice but junior and inexperienced. It would have been okay if the hotel was cheap, but for the high price we paid, this experience was simply unacceptable.

This is one of those treasures that you love to find. Mainly because it's on an island with great cultural and culinary offerings, but I don't think many people stay there. The person who welcomed me was extremely friendly. From every window one can enjoy the sunset.

Rooms are newly built and squeaky clean. Excellent staff, helpful, approachable. The upstairs cafe opens till late and the views are great.
