The Railway Sleeper

Fabulous!! Beautifully decorated, charming country stay with great amenities. If I could give 15/10 I would.

Was worried about the trains, but we barely heard them.

Couldn't figure out coffee maker, possibly operator issue?

This is an exceptionally charming and cosy property that has been beautifully and sensitively renovated whilst preserving the history and features of the railway station's wonderful heritage. The fact that the station is operational completely adds to the charm of the stay without causing any disturbance. The furnishings and fittings are extremely tasteful, of high quality and all mod cons are provided. Every aspect of the property is well thought out with every catering need provided in the kitchen and lovely touches such as fresh milk and chilled water supplied. Anne, the host couldn't have been more helpful providing all necessary info for our stay and replying immediately to our messages. The adjoining coffee shop is well worth a visit with really friendly staff and gorgeous coffee. We were attending an event in the Seamus Heaney HomePlace centre in Bellaghy, a drive of approx 20 mins from the property.

The timing of our visit meant that unfortunately we didn't get to sample the full range of wares the adjoining coffee shop has to offer!

Such a cute, characterful property. Very good value. Impeccably clean and comfortable. Really appreciated the little touches like milk, bottled water etc.

A very welcoming host, who went above and beyond even a generous welcome package in the kitchen to help me! The house isbeautifully designed to highlight it's railway heritage, without sacrificing comfort . It actually comprises 3 small rooms, plus bathroom, whereas I was expecting a studio setup. So I was delighted. You barely hear the trains ... I noticed a gentle swoosh about twice. And the Ticket Bakehouse is handy for entertaining guests.

The property was extremely clean and the interior is stylish. The little original touches of the rail station are really nice. It’s got everything you need and feels luxurious yet homely inside. Biscuits, chocolates, Shloer, coffee pods, dressing gowns and slippers, made all the difference in feeling special. You can tell that the owner’s take pride in looking after the building as well as the people who stay over. Check in and out was super easy and contact with the owner was very good. Anne was very helpful and made sure to let me know any extra info on heating etc. There are also books left at the property to tell you about the local amenities and the history of the building, which was also a really nice touch. The Railway Sleeper is ideal if you’re visiting the Galgorm Hotel for an event, it’s only 2 minutes up the road by car. We had a lovely stay - thank you.

As the railway is still working, there is some noise from the outside. The windows could be thicker maybe but I don’t know if this is possible as they are old/potentially listed building. Apart from this it was a lovely stay.

Really lovely find here. Nice touches to the history of the building yet kept modern and homely. Nicely decorated and extremely comfortable bed. You can hear the noises from the train station but did not disturb us at all. All facilities have been well thought out, all the things you need for a lovely break. The cafe next door is also worth a visit with some delicious treats. Overall cant fault the place.
