Santa Cecilia Hotel

This place is beautiful. Any concerns you may have about being too far away are not to be worried about. This place is in a beautiful part of Oaxaca amongst the prettiest European styled streets, with fantastic cafes and restaurants nearby. You don’t even need to walk 5 minutes. It’s an easy walk into town or you can take a short cab ride. We walked. The rooms open up onto the aqueduct that runs behind the hotel, so we were lulled to sleep every night with running water. Definitely better than staying in town with all the street noise. Even when we had hot water issues, the service staff were quick to remedy this by either moving us to a new room or getting the plumber to fix it asap. The chambermaids did such an amazing job cleaning our room they even folded our clothes! It was easy to add Netflix and Amazon prime - I think the bad reviews didn’t actually ask the front desk. They just complained on google. Just incredible service and will 100% be back

There’s no aircon but this wasn’t an issue during our stay.

I enjoyed the location, but it is about a 25 minute walk to the Zocalo. The neighborhood is very pretty, and there are good places to eat nearby. The room was excellent, really nicely furnished and it had everything that I needed.

There were times that it would have been nice to be more centrally located, like when it started to rain a little bit one night, but other than that I don't have any cause for complaint.

This was a lovely quiet hotel. Despite not being in the centre, there were 3 great restaurants a few minutes walk away - Mexican, Moroccan and Wholefood. Our outlook was onto a sweet little garden. Refillable bottled water was always available. The staff were always at reception. Good morning coffee was served downstairs and was included. The room was light and well fitted out, with a small balcony and two fans, one in the ceiling which we much preferred to aircon. A pleasant 25 minute walk into the centre of town . Perfect for us and very relaxing at the end of hot, busy days

Absolutely nothing

The hotel was everything we needed and more for our stay. Its nicely decorated, adding to the Oaxacan charm of the city. It was clean and comfortable and a short work to the centre. We really enjoyed our stay.

Super cool hotel, beside a beautiful aqueduct. Lodged in a artsy and old neighborhood. About a 10-15 mins walk to the Centro and the walk is absolutely fabulous (straight line) with all the gorgeous buildings. Personel was A+. The room had a king bed and was very comfortable. Shower was always over leaking but all was okay in the end. Be sure to check out Chepiche Café nearby for delicious coffee and breakfast/lunch with a huge terrace. The pizza place beside was also good. Definitely recommend this place of you’re up for walking a bit more. Trust me, you’ll love it.
