We’ve just returned from an incredible 3-night stay over the August Bank Holiday weekend at The Winford Retreat, an absolute gem. This relaxing escape has it all, offering a serene haven that often feels peacefully secluded, like you’re in the middle of nowhere. The hut itself is stunning, clean, and cozy, equipped with everything you need: cooking facilities, a great shower, satellite TV, and even thoughtful touches like treats and a ball for our dog, which she loved! The secure and spacious grounds and garden were blissful, and a major reason we chose this retreat, as we brought our dog along. She thoroughly enjoyed roaming the expansive space. The inviting hot tub was perfect for unwinding in the evening after a long day of exploring, especially as the sun set. The hut is well-located, with many attractions just a short drive away. We enjoyed several walks during our stay and even took our dog on her first beach trip to Weston, only 30 minutes away. We have nothing but praise for this place. We loved every minute and were gutted to leave. The photos of the hut are lovely but still don’t do it justice. Credit to the owners who were fantastic, providing all the information we needed before our stay. We will definitely be booking again!

Idyllic location, perfect couple and dog getaway. Close to Bristol

Bed was super comfy, but nature of the shepherds hut slightly short for a 6’2 man.

Gorgeous clean property with lovely enclosed garden for the dog. Quiet and tranquil, the perfect spot.

Stunning place and amazing facilities. Had literally everything we needed for a night away .

Scenery , high quality , hot tub, fire pit, dog friendly .

Location was ideal for our visit.

There was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful setting..everything you’d need for a short break.. lovely touches and everything was a very high standard. Communication and replies were very prompt ..our dog was very comfortable too.

Not a complaint but we visited on the hottest weekend of the year so far and struggled to manage the heat inside without a fan although windows were fully open and blinds down.. The hot tub was a bonus but due to the heat of the weekend.. it proved tricky to regulate the temperature ..tepid would have suited us on this occasion..

Everything, the peace and quiet, the simple life, nature, so relaxing, great for dogs as well. Loved it, so cute.
