Jolly Roger Cottage - Part of the The Bay Filey Holiday Village with pool, gym and direct beach access, pub, restaurant, tennis and meadows walks

The property was lovely, it was so well equipped we had everything we needed & more. Myself & my cousins were all impressed and had a lovely relaxing few days celebrating my early birthday, the process was so easy from start to finish.

Location is great. Enough space/ bedroom for 4 adults and 2 children

It is tired in places and needs some TLC. Although we have been before and noticed that the hall carpet has been replaced so hopefully more improvements are to come

The house itself was ample big enough for 6 adults and 1 child,very well equipped. The showers in both bathrooms are very good and the actual site is spotless.

All the mattresses and pillows need updating or matress toppers putting on because the beds and pillows are rock hard,ive come home and need to see my chiropractor! The duvets are very thin aswell. The house as a lovely kitchen diner however the large dining table is in another room which is a shame,it would make more sense putting the table in the kitchen with patio doors leading onto a small garden and the sofas putting in the room where the table is currently situated to make a small lounge/snug...if we was staying for more than the 3 days I would have switched it around. The garden table is in desperate need of a sand and varnish. Also The Bay is a fair distance to Filey and the beach is about a 40 minute walk down a steep hill so be prepared for a hike and a half!!

Great location plenty of space for 4 adults 2 kids and all the basics we needed.

A little tired in places ready for some TLC, carpets worn on the stairs the bath had lots of chips in it the toilets are stained and tile work in the bathroom window poor. Also a few cleaning things were overlooked, we found a use cotton ear bud in the bathroom bin, used tissues scrunched in one of the beside draws and a mouldy washer machine draw. However the general overall cleanliness of the house was still good! Could just be better

The heating when it came on. The prompt response, after calling the emergency number. The promise of a sweetener, to cover the problems, which we have not received.

The dirty door handles. Emptying the dishwasher on arrival. The sticky dinning dining table. Entering a freezing house, with no heating and clearing the snow from the front steps and rear path. Not receiving the promised refund.

In a lovely location, good facilities and very dog friendly, the pub on site served lovely food although a little pricey

The property didn’t have any surplus toilet rolls and no wash cloths, for doing the dishes, it could have been a little cleaner, tables were sticky and no surplus bin liners, other properties we’ve stayed in at the bay offer welcome packs, teabags, dishwasher tablets etc, this would have been nice

There were a few maintenance issues but responded to promptly.

All of the many emails and texts received from AB Holidays, with capital letters for emphasis. They were too much and really impacted before and during the holiday. Didn’t like this at all. We paid a lot for the house and there were no basic soaps and toilet cleaners in the house, but we were encouraged to leave things we didn’t use - perhaps if there are more basic items people would do that and for the cost I’d have expected this as a minimum. House lacks some softer furnishings and wasn’t completely clean, a bit dusty in places.
