Playa Grande Resort Optional All Inclusive

Hotel Playa Grande is a beautiful property—huge, with several pools and great facilities, all overlooking the ocean at the far end. The hotel is conveniently located near the Marina and El Médano Beach, where you can easily catch boats to the Arch. We were welcomed with delicious margaritas, which was a lovely touch. Our room, a Deluxe Junior Suite with two patios, was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped as well. A special mention goes to the amazing fragrance in the reception hall—we loved it so much that we ended up buying it from the hotel spa. All the staff members were warm, friendly, and very helpful.

The room above us had some renovations going on, so we were woken up by that noise.

The television programming was dismal. The movie channels showed movies that were either very old or weird sci fi. There seemed to be no US channels with regular contemporary shows.

You needed to be a mountain goat to get in nd out of the shower. Very dangerous design with deadly metal rails for the glass sliding door positioned in such a way that a slip would result in a terrible cut. Crazy design.

Big property with multiple pools, daytime programs, tennis court, gym, Minigolf etc, quiet at night, beautiful views of the beach, friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, fantastic bed and linens

The prices for drinks and food are way too high, l'd recommend taking the 10 minute walk or uber to the pier/ city. I understand to pay for the convenience of the resort but you're not even allowed to bring your own drinks to the pool area. Also note there are currently 3 buildings being remodeled which causes some noise and dust during the day.
